Yggie, have you tried that diet?
yeah, when my gall bladder went "bad"........
between the diagnosis and surgery, about 2-3 weeks, I lost 20 lbs.......
I lost about 15 pounds.
Think I gained it back when I could eat again.
The doctor was impressed at how sick I was.
Not a good sign.

Can't really recommend it as a diet strategy.

They shot me full of prednisone today and put me on naproxen.
I go for an x-ray tomorrow.

They're hoping for nasty trauma.
The alternative will be surgery.

You know doctors.
All they ever want is to open you up and fill you full of old bicycle parts.

You were naked and I didn't see it??!!@@# Dammit!

I wasn't talking about you though fishy. I only saw this woman twice and she just might have had more hair in the 'merkin area' than I have on my head.

So EmilyD, what do you think of Burning Man now? Will you be going to the eplaya Meet and Greet to meet all these fun misfits? I am pretty sure the naked bike ride is out of the question for you.

Gyre, I hope you feel better soon!

What do you mean "now"? I'd love to meet and greet the folks I've met here, well some of them. You, however I don't need to meet as it turns out. ;-)

Can't you see it, like some demented duckling parade? There's Casanova followed by all sorts of naked, scarred, streatchmarked, fat, formerly fat, hairy people begging for a hug, while he cotemplates spending the entire event inside a harvey hut because he's just too freaked.

Let me ask a question here instead of starting a new thread.

If there were a ban imposed on any type of nudity at BM, would it cause you to not attend anymore? (or not go if you've never attended)This would also cover the idea of additional rules being put into place that would inhibit this kind of sporatic free expression.

I'm not sure that banning nudity would automatically and absolutely remove BM from my list of places to go, but it would certainly be a big factor.

Why? Am I so attached to displaying my rapidly aging skin?

No. Such a ban would be important because it would be part of an attack on all forms of expression at BM. You can only chip away so much before it becomes unable to sustain interest. I know that some have decided that it is already past that point, but I've not crossed that line yet.

Much and I have been card carrying nudist for 20+ years and having said that, nudity has little if anything to do with our attending BM. If nudity were our motive, for less money we can go to a much less harsh environment, to a nudist resort with swimming pools, hot tubs, and beaches, 3 and 4 star resturants, lots of water and showers and everyone is nude. Or somewhere like Wreck Beach with 5000 naked people on any given sunny summer afternoon.

BM is the chance to ride our fur covered beach cruisers, with hokey spokes and butterflies, wearing costumes, meeting characters, make lifelong friendships with unique people.

I don't know. It would be so un-burning man and hypocritical. Express yourself but you have to stay covered? Not that we aren't all hypocrits in some way. But still, I honestly don't know.

I'm not a nudist and probably won't walk around completely naked but one would like the option. Hell part of the reason I like going to austin is to go swimming without a top on. It may not be pretty but its me.

It is not unreasonable to imagine a very conservative state like Nevada imposing a ban on nudity at BM. This is an all ages event and one could envision the "for the sake of the children" argument.

But let's burn that bridge if it ever gets built latter.

Here in Michigan we're just recovering from Lakes Of Fire, our multi-state-and-province Regional Event...I was pleasantly surprised at the quantity of total and partial nudity for an event held in West Michigan, given the density of mosquitoes AND the density of the local conservatives.
Note To Self: Get birthday suit cleaned and pressed before August.

EmilyD, the M&G will be held again this year beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro. The last three years we have been situated on the corner of 3:30 and D, but who knows this time around (we should know by tomorrow I suppose). We have had upwards of 200 people show up. It is fun...from what I can recall.

Yup, EmilyD and I are old friends from way back, despite living 3000 miles apart. I was surprised to see her show up here, but recognized her right away by the purple hair on her avitar. Yes, she has that in real life and it's assumed that she did that so she could fit in when she applied for a job at the Motor Vehicle Registry Department.

I have been offering her help and items to her aside from eplaya, and doing the same type of thing here. When she found out that I was one and the same, she called me an "asshole"! Thanks EmilyD--I love you too! :D
We will be camping nearby each other and I am very afraid that she will kill me in my sleep!

I will be sure to escort her and her hubby to the BDC&WB M&G on Thursday--if I am still alive!
