ITA w/ boijoy...if you want to "surprise" the playa...why even register as a theme camp? Kinda defeats the "interactivity" idea IMO too. Just my .02. (Steps off her soapbox)

On the other hand...anyone else heard from their placer? I'm trying to contain my freak-out here...

I can only guess that some camps have a theme that is suitable for interactivity primarily by invitation, or limited in some way such as for couples only. Just guessing based on my four years in BRC.

Oh... and I have heard that when placement lists were published, some such camps asked that their listing not be repeated around the internet -- yet this did happen. So individual notifications would solve that.

Yeah, I agree that publishing a list that's been asked to be kept confidential is skeevy too.

Yep...got my inbox open, too. Refresh, refresh, refresh.

Nothing for RhythmWave yet.

Incidentally... anyone know (or care to speculate) if camps that DON'T get placed will also receive a "customized, individual" notice of some sort?

At least I'm not the only one stalking my inbox right now. While I understand, and I appreciate some camps need for privacy, damn the list thing was a lot easier to bear for waiting!!! :D

Secret Locations... I know that pee funnel camp (for instance) gets overrun if their address is made public, they request placement so that they can pre-make the poster 'clues' for the portos... they certainly provide a public service; Tuna Guys need a pre-event address so that their trucks can deliver the goods, but a public addy 'forces' them to be a 'restaurant'...

I was not that impressed with the utility of the pee-funnels passed out last year. You had to pee an inchworth before the funnel would drain. And um I guess pour the rest out when you were done.

So these camps aren't even going to be on the maps at the gate? I think I'm with the "they are supposed to be public and interactive, they should just not ask for placement if they don't want it to be known" crowd.

A woman I knew made a pee funnel by snipping off the top of a birthday party hat. Utilitarian, yes, but handy.

She also made a sports bra out of a pair of my tighty-whities.

BARBIE DEATH VILLAGE HAS BEEN PLACED. 3:30 and Edinburgh. We are a rather small village, only 300' X 350'. But should be easy to find.

Now that's good old fashioned playafuckingpractical creativity!

OK, back to the inbox stalking...refresh. Knowing it may take a day (or so) doesn't make it easier as I, too, was wondering if we would get a "not placed" email? Guess I'll ahve to wait and see. Refresh.

I wish JR would stop sending messages out until the waiting is over! I'm sittin here on pins and needles, checking my mail every ten minutes and I see the letters BM and think "THIS IS IT" and its a J.R. message!! OH NO, I've become a whiner)

Now to vent,,, last year it was (whining) "BM was too big" so camps got eliminated , this year its (whining) "I don't want to be listed" It seems to me that these whiners are just causing the BM Placement folks more problems and time, Not to mention upsetting the Theme Campers.

NO WHINING!!!!!!

Wow so far from last year's spot! I was hoping we'd still be close together, but it does sound like a great spot for you! I suppose we could think about poaching land in a different area... hmmm.... to be pondered...
A plan is what you vary from.

Hey Chino, I think a Portal placement indicates you are on one of the two sides of the triangular portal as opposed to facing the Esplanade directly. Still a great spot and I could be wrong...

Looks like Hushville will be sharing the "big block" with the Barbies.

Terminal City "A" and "3ish". Probably exactly where we were last year. "A" between 3:30 and 3:10.
