Virgin Burn
Virgin Burn
1.Complete newbie here wonder exactly what day does the Man burn, Saturday or Sunday?
2.I'm driving up on my own From San Diego on Wend the 1st and would like to offer anybody a lift if they need one.
3.Does anybody need a volunteer to help out with their campsite? Will work for company/booze. Also they might help me from perishing in the desert through shear ignorance

This is my virgin burn year too - however, my partner is doing his 2nd year. I really suggest partnering with people who have done this, it makes the process simplified and much more fun, because they can help you plan better and enjoy more, when you are feeling overwhelmed.

FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF CONTRADICTORY POSTS:
Go alone. It makes it easier to deal with your own shit and makes you self-reliant. It's one less thing to worry about, no one that you care about to harsh your precious buzz. I know many who popped their cherry solo. I kind of wish I had, but I ain't going to start a "Reclaim you BM virginity movement." That would be silly.
END COMMUNICATION.
either way, just so's you get there!

You NEED to read the Survival Manual. Assume nothing. Start with the Burning Man home page http://www.burningman.comAlso they might help me from perishing in the desert through shear ignorance
and scour the thing. Most will be revealed.

I've devoured it but am still a bit aprehensive, but in a good way, i think it might help me keep my wits about me. Maybe I'm being a bit naive but everybody seems to be pretty stand up about this event and if I do get in trouble somebody will help me out. I've survived a couple of Glastonbury's so hopefully I won't be too out of my dept.

It was 95 and 96 when I was there. I realise its not the same, for starters it rained one year but still got the sense of a large festival atmosphere. I haven't been there since then but I hear its been getting more and more commercial.Badger wrote:Was at Glastonbury last year. It is *WAY* out of that department. Glato is everything BM isn't.
