Last year was my first year. Growing up in the bay area I had heard about the wonderful festivities and had wanted to go for quite some time. A friend of mine who I've always admired for his free spirit asked me if I was going that year, when I said "I wish" he told me, "then make it happen". So I did. I decided that I have to go, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to make it. I was living in San Diego at the time, but I quit my job, sold everything that I didn't need, hopped in my car with my boyfriend and went home for the first time! After feeling so free, I decided I'm going to make it every year possible.
I was able to participate in the Center Camp cleanup, which really put into perspective how much creativity, work, and passion goes into this event. It was also amazing to see everything disappear, which was a good decompression and transition to going back to the other side. I've never felt so inspired or free in my life, and hope to continue participating with other burners, and hopefully find my calling in life.
I originally joined this site because I'm interested in participating in this years superman world record. I also think this site will be a great way for me to be connected with other burners and events.
I am having some difficulty uploading an avatar from my mac, if anyone might be able to help me with this?
Thank you for your time, and I can't wait to see everyone on the playa!!!
Looking forward to going home!!! )*(

Hi LIMR!!
Welcome to eplaya. Thank you for being a part of the post-event pickin' up. It's folks like you who keep us going, really. Coming from Kentucky, I can contribute in some ways, but it's the people who are there before and after that I really appreciate. As to finding your calling, well... just be open and it'll find you. though I suspect you already know that.
FaeTora, you and the other new faces here really energize me. What a nice thing to gift, and before we've even met.

i had a problem for almost a year getting my avatar up, you need to get a pic, and then go to adjust size in preview, make it 80 by 80 pixels you may have to adjust the way it is measured. and then save it as that and then select it while choosing your avatar. good luck.
