Flammable Stanley Cup for Cancer Survivors: I'm new

Post by LadyVroom » Mon Jul 05, 2010 11:38 pm

Hello!

I'm a new burner, and after posting on the forum & getting great feedback, I'm going ahead with my project:

The Flammable Stanley Cup for Cancer Survivors
Facebook: http://bit.ly/9rMEby

Originally I wanted to make a Stanley Cup to throw into the fire, to celebrate my team's win after a 49 year drought (Chicago Blackhawks).

But when I thought about writing names on the Cup, it seemed better to add my mom's & brother's names, who are both currently fighting cancer.

The Stanley Cup is the hardest sports trophy to win, so it's fitting to dedicate it to people who "win" at life!

Stop by the Decadent Oasis camp to add your name (if you survived cancer), or the name of a loved one (even if they are fighting the good fight right now): http://dcdnt.org/home

If you won't make it to the playa, then hit me up on Facebook & I'll add the name to the list.

Thanks for your awesome support! My goal is to have this paper mache Cup _completely_ covered in names of cancer survivors. Help make it happen!

Love,
LadyVroom

LadyV, I had been watching your thread for quite a few days and it looks like your cup found its purpose. Very nice way to introduce yourself to the playa and many of its huggable giving citizens. Well done.

I knew I had talked with someone about a Stanley Cup build!
You're the one I emailed with pics and info of the tube at PK.
The Survivor cup is an excellent idea, and your intentions are clearly patrician.
Definitely hope to see you in Black Rock City.

Awww! Thanks you two! Getting all misty-eyed & stuff...

Hope to get hugs from you both at the fest. Please keep spreading the word, so the entire cup will be covered with names of cancer survivors. Let's celebrate Aliveness!
