Actually, pot bellies are not allowed on the playa. Their paws get torn up by the alkali dust and too many people didn't clean up after them, which violates leave no trace. Some pot bellies belonging to some volenteers have been grandfathered, so you might see them.

Mines probably from drinking lotsa milk with everything I ate, as a child and teenager.
Now its probably from not excercing and beer and ice cream and deep fried hot dogs and from sittin on my ass, like Elliot, driving semis for 20+ years.
Wish I did'nt have it but I do

In reallity it seems that Casanova, larva, pupa, whatever his skinny ass name is, is self-conscious about something. Evidently he thinks of himself as a pretty burner and it's all about him. Maybe he's 6'2", 195lbs, tanned, muscular etc.Kinetic V wrote:Sheesh, I guess we have a bunch of image-conscious types in here.
But... maybe he has an ear growing out his forehead and it bothers him

I can't have southern belles anymore. At least not the drink because it contains barely (a product with gluten). But oh I do drink.
I'm an odd mix of yankee and Southern Belle. I was raised in the south by people from Upstate New York. Regardless I try to be a gentleman at all times and a southern belle when I speak to someone I detest.
C.F.M. - I've never been a sweet drink kinda girl. I like things straight up. Patron shots, Gin and Tonics, etc. or wine. I love wine.

Almost as pretty as a lady.

I'm GF. Is it the whiskey/bourbon you're referring to?FaeTora wrote:I can't have southern belles anymore. At least not the drink because it contains barely (a product with gluten). But oh I do drink.

"All distilled alcohols are gluten-free."
Or are they? Many celiac's can't do tequila, either, unless it's 100% agave.

Most dark liquors like Whiskey, Brandy, Bourbon, etc. contain barley to ferment them. So I have to be careful what I drink. Some clears can have it too. So yes, you have to check each vendor for ingredients. The higher grade liqours tend to be safe if out. So I always ask for liqour by brand name.
Anything that goes into your body when your gluten free has to be analyzed before you eat/drink/ or apply it (especialy anything that will go on your lips). As a woman, even with a gluten free diet, you are at a higher risk for flair ups and to have a lower sensitivity level than your male counterparts. Of the small group of people that a gluten free diet doesn't work for, most are women.

Did you read through that link? Distilled likkers have been shown to be gluten-free - like vinegar. It was once thought that vinegar wasn't GF, but the distillation process makes it so.FaeTora wrote:Most dark liquors like Whiskey, Brandy, Bourbon, etc. contain barley to ferment them.
I've been GF for nearly ten years, and grew up with a GF mom...over 20 years ago (she went GF in 1985).
My gf is also gluten-free and much more rabid about it than I was, when we met.
An single office-mate got a call from his high school sweetheart (oflucky420 wrote:i have a pot belly pig-her name is Whole lotta Rosie. Her brother Pig Newton died this June. RIP Newnie...
20 years ago). It got very serious and marriage was possible but
she had a pot bellied pig.
He hated the pig but loved her. All we heard for 2 months was asking
for help for him to get her to get rid of the pig.
Finally in desperation he issued an ultimatum. You can choose me
or the pot bellied pig. She chose the pot bellied pig!!
