Just a hello
Just a hello
Howdy ePlayasters. My name is John Morrison; my given burner name is Mojo. 2010 will be my fourth burn. My first was 2007. I've found my time on the playa to be very 'spiritually' (for lack of a better word) recharging. I adore the incredibly beautiful natural space of Black Rock Desert and the multidimensional experience of freedom I have in Black Rock City. I've learned a lot in my short time on the ePlaya and am looking forward to communicating with fellow burners here.

The second think that attracted my attention from Burning Man was the nudity...bigbluedoggy wrote:Damn... I just show up for the naked chicks and free beer!
The first time I set foot on the playa I knew I needed to be there!! Sure there are all kinds of things that make Burning Man great, and also a few things that make it suck. But those also make it great. As far as nudity goes, meh!
I consider BRC to be my 8-day yearly recharge.

Thanks!AntiM wrote:Welcome... you know, we already have one Mojo....
RE another "Mojo" on ePlaya: So I hear; Oneeyeddick recently informed me of the original Mojo) Looks like I'll be changing my playa name. Just because my theme camp christened me Mojo doesn't mean I HAVE to keep the name.
BTW, Mojo is a sort of flip over of a somewhat homophobic (and slightly humorous) name given to me by bullying classmates in high school. I was called Jo Mo -- a name culled from the first two letters of my first and last name. If I hadn't gotten beat up so many times for being gay I would have been more inclined to see the humor in that nickname. Having my camp Stella flip that name around into Mojo was kind of a sweet thing and made a flattering nod to the idea that I have mojo (not actually sure that I do though.)
But you know, "Mojo" is also the name of a candy bar, a British music magazine, an American television network, a video game, a Marvel comics supervillian, a pet dog in an Anne Rice novel, an album by Tom Petty, a club in Hamburg, a railway town in Ethiopia, a Japanese vocalist, a nickname for Mother Jones magazine and a Cuban marinade made with garlic, cumin and orange.
Does the world really need ANOTHER Mojo? Nah!
"Existentially rechargning" I love that phrase. I relate to that a lot.Clar-i-ty wrote:maybe existentially recharging. Dang, the comments on nudity made me think I must have gotten jaded regarding nudity somewhere along the line; I hardly even notice naked people anymore (unless they're doing jumping jacks in the middle of traffic.)stretch80 wrote:The second think that attracted my attention from Burning Man was the nudity...bigbluedoggy wrote:Damn... Oh wait a minute that's not true. If I see someone that is TOTALLY my type my eyes bug out, my arms start flailing about uncontrollably, my wobbly legs make me collapse to my knees and I start jabbering nonsense in Middle English and Aramaic. I'm such a rube!
@ Ygmir, Ellorum, AnitM, Boijoy and Dr. Pyro: Great comments! LOL! You guys are hilarious. I love it.
I think I'll go with Mojori; it's a contraction of Mojo Risen'. I was toying with that idea anyway. Thank you very much Boijoy and Emily D for your feedback on that one!
