You guys can say what you want, I actually know Tom Lehrer. It's been some years since I last talked with him (I have an autographed copy of The Tom Lehrer Song Book) but as a spry 82 year old, he'd be a welcome addition to our camp. Maybe I should drop him a line. I think I still have his address in Santa Cruz. (He used to live at 21 Spring Street, Cambridge, MA when I actually still talked with him on a somewhat regular basis.) Maybe I should schlep a piano out to the playa and sing The Elements (yes, I can sing that song...for a fee) and annoy the entire camp.

So if you can convince him to join us, that would be good.

TOM LEHRER IS THE MAN!
Well, it's official. I was searching for stuff to sing while accompanied on one of El's lovely pianos! I shall bring my book of all things Tom Lehrer and perhaps have a sing along. I first discovered him when looking up the word plagarize when I was about 12. That song that we all know and love came up...voila! I was hooked. The masochism tango is one of my FAVORITES! Though Be Prepared is a rousing second!
Totally agree that Tom Lehrer is a diety and JEALOUS that I have never had the chance to meet him!!!!!

mmmm, I always bring my 'playa' repertoire book... now we just need Elliot's mobile piano at the MnG... seems like the Kinetic folks are doing a parade thru town Thursday starting at 4:20, maybe the pianoboat (or whatever it's called) can stop by??
Doc, will you sing? ( I can play, if no virtuoso steps up!)

Classically, if you knew my father, he was once at a party where Mr. Lehrer sang, and my father wasn't all that impressed.VeganChoirGirl wrote:Totally agree that Tom Lehrer is a diety and JEALOUS that I have never had the chance to meet him!!!!!
