Made some good progress this weekend. At Goodwill, got the most awesome yellow slicker, striped PJs, fuzzy robe, and a non-moopy sequin tube top. We also got the 3 15-gallon water containers to supplement the trailer tanks today.

Is it really only 34 days? Oh crap!

I've booked all of our hotels for the way out and the way home--most on Priceline for half off. I found high visibility yellow rain overalls @ Farm & Fleet, and shrunk all my shrinky pins. Barely over a month left until we leave!

Coool hats!!!

I've had a very frustrating day dealing with trailer insulation. I scraped off the old, stuck down the new and it's too goddamn THICK! It bulges the trailer walls so that none of the OTHER insulation then works. So... back to the hardware store. SIGH!

Today, I did my best not to become overwhelmed and I found solar-charged clip on flashlights. 4 for $9.99. Score.

Oooo got a link for those flashlights?

I know what you mean about feeling overwhelmed. I started prep back in February but I still feel unready. I think it's because our biggest issue is still unresolved...shade structure, we're still waiting for the stupid thing. I paid for it back in May!!!! $@%")&@)$#*"@)!$!#$% !!!! Trying to stay calm.

1 Pair fully restored Justin Ropers (I've had these boots longer than I've had my kids!)
1 Pair Trail Runners
1 Pair Purple Fake Ugs-will need inserts
1 set pink fuzzy slippers

I'm set!

Also picked up a personal mister, spare bike parts to gift to bike repair camp, a case of MRE's, and 2 pairs of garden gloves. After several day of no progress I made a lot today. (Contented Sigh) :D

Would i be considered a moron if I wore my keens? I have flat feet and they are the most comfortable. Wish I could wear some great boots but would pay for it later
I have flat feet too, and the best footwear I've ever worn are Army Issue all leather Speedlacer combat boots. The Sketchers I just got seem to be okay. I wore them all day yesterday and didn't seem to suffer much. Besides, the playa is a nice shock-absorbing substance. My feet (and back) always hurt less there.

Spats are real easy to make. I just made some by cutting the sleeves off a canvas jacket. Put your foot where your hand would normally go, fold the remainder down and voila! Spats! Works good with Denim too. Then just Glam it up as you see fit.

Our dogtags came today! We got our names, camp name & location, and emergency phone numbers (probably a waste of time, but there was room) on them. $5 for 2 on eBay. :D

GREAT IDEA! Thanks for the tip.

Bling, dogtags are really a smart idea. Does the company you got them from have any more?

Today I finished the weather stripping on the trailer (WHEW!) and now I'm sealing a giant hole in the side from where there used to be a vent for a refrigerator. Ours came with a cheap-ass "ice box" instead and that vent was just wide open to the elements. Now the Playa won't have as easy an access point into our trailer.

It sounds like we'll be FINALLY getting our shade structure this week, gawd I sure hope so. I still need to make shad cloth side panels. I've got all the materials and I'm ready to go!!!!

I ordered some of that cool cityscape fabric that Clarity posted the link to, it's GREAT! I need to cover the Mister's coat with it and stick some lights behind it....mmmm yeah. Bisssy, bizzy, Busy!!!

I ordered dog tags as well and had fun with them. I got mine from http://www.dogtagsonline.com/ and was really happy with how fast they arrived, the choices, and product. (Note that I am not promoting this company, just offering that I purchased from them and was happy with what I got.)

Here are mine...although the camera made it look blue, I got purple...lol

I actually know about animal control. I mentioned the tags at Church Night and the burners there starting cracking up and couldn't resist telling me.

LOL. I can't wait to be on the playa. Less than 6 weeks!!!!

Spare trailer tire mount arrived today via UPS. We need to get that puppy welded on so the spare tire (which is GIANT!) doesn't take up half the space in the back of the Yukon. We also want to have room to put a milk crate on the trailer tongue to hold a 5-gallon gas can. Not sure how those will both fit. And, need a welder...

Water and gas (plastic) containers get a lot of stress from the bounce of the tailer.. carry mine in the van.. Luckly learn, it was water that time..

Found a half dozen plastic (?) leis and 25 strings of Mardi Gras beads at the bottom of one of my Burningman boxes. Now I just have to figure out what to do with them.
