I'm creating a table for Center Camp that allows Burners to add their 2-cents worth. I did something similar last year and it was COVERED many times over (http://www.jonathan-clark.com/photos/bm09/), but it's all fading terribly! (sniff!)
This year, I want to make some kind of markers, pencils, SOMETHING available that won't fade, but that can handle the dust, etc.
Any suggestions???

Kno Knives
Love it, Token!
You gave me all sorts of great images with the knife suggestion!
I'll definitely check on the metalics.
Thanks!

Scrapbooking stuff is probably anti-fade, just like it's acid-free.
I think sharpies don't fade. Purples are more likely to be fugitive than blues. Probably those markers used for design are permanant. (There's at least two brands, but I can't think of a name for either.) Paint markers.

I don't think so. The issue isn't, as I understand it, the pigment combining with the air, but the pigment not being very light resistant. Someone at an art store can tell you better. I suppose you could have dick blick dot com open in one tab and google product information on the permanance in another.

That is correct. Everything was bright and vivid at first, but the sunlight bleached the hell out of it (big surprise, right?). I did lacquer the table top pretty soon after getting home, tho maybe not soon enough, and it did brighten up the colors somewhat, but most of the damage was already done.
