Virgin Burning Man goer...IN NEED OF TICKET...

Post by HopeRyder » Thu Jul 29, 2010 3:40 pm

I am trying to get to Burning man for the first time this year....I turn to you for some guidance...

In the past few months I have made such deep connections with our beautiful community, and have had experiences that lead me to believe this IS THE YEAR I need to be on the playa :)......I would love to not only go there as an observer but also a creator!.. I want to spread the word about the Venus Project, and have some ideas on ways to do so..

I need help on getting into a camp, getting supplies and whatever else...any suggestions????

It's a easy as 123...

1.Get a job/ make some money

2.Buy what you need (including ticket)

3.Find a way out to the desert

See you on the playa.....good luck!

Edit: There are no observers only participants!

Start with the required reading:

2010 Survival Guide
http://www.burningman.com/media/doc/pre ... _guide.pdf

and these:

http://www.burningman.com/preparation/e ... index.html
http://www.burningman.com/preparation/e ... iance.html

Etc.

Getting into a camp is not necessary, don't forget: the event is about being radically self-reliant and trying to make it on your own. However, you can go to "EPlaya Forum Index" and then select "2010 Camps". A few may still be still accepting members. Many have closed their doors at this point since there's only a month left, though, and their members have been working for months now (planning and labor take a while, and it usually costs something too). So be ready to accept the challenge of doing it yourself.

There is also a Q&A: Tips & Tricks forum for specific questions about shade and food and costuming, etc. Browse further! Ask specific questions. Use the search function at the top center of this forum. It's a little imperfect, but it's not bad.

Good luck to you . . .

wanting to help out is a good attitude. you need to buy a ticket, no one's gonna hand you one so work on that. there's lot's of camps that will take you, look around this site for posts like this:

good luck!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
