that hurts........swampdog wrote:Hey gang! Been a long week for me at work, and not particularly satisfying. The Devo song "workin' in a coal mine" is going in my head.
Misa, I think you're not getting that "Position Under Super Secret Interior Entrance" is a weak joke.
Good times.
Anyway, that's what Slivovice reminds me of.
Caution: PLEASE DON'T TRY TO SMUGGLE ANY SLIVOVICE IN YOUR "Position Under Super Secret Interior Entrance"

Fishy, that's not at all how I remember the anthem they were singing. The tune seems familiar but I'm not hearing the only 2 parts I could understand. Maybe the version drunken LA expats sing has "fuck Marshall Tito" in the middle. Thanks for looking it up though!
Tonight I bring you a new word. My local (locally owned) bookstore has something on facebook asking people to share words they've recently learned. From which I glean:
Callipygian: having beautiful buttocks
Useful for making lecherous remarks without getting slapped.
Pronounced "Calla-pidge-ee-in"

My gift to all of you callipygous beauties (I'm talking to you, Yggy)

I found out that I am known in my company outside my region. "right hand gal" which is great sign because no one promotes those they don't know. I have another corporate meet up right before I leave for BM (not the day after I get back!)! I am to be promenaded out for the big bosses in the next quarter, I exposed an issue with our new system, got some client contacts we needed, and was told I was more competent than one of my bosses. etc. ec. etc.
Just a good day.
Just a good day.

I'm not clever enough to find the terms to do this search, but what is the sort of trouble a non-citizen finds herself in for bringing in two extra liters of alcohol? Is it pay a fine then and there, or forbidden entry to the country, or arrest? There was one gentleman from Toronto who was not allowed in, although he only had a one way ticket...

Fishy:
I would think they'd just confiscate it.........as long as it seems not for sale, just a mistake.......but, an official response would be best.

I found this:
Here's what I found while googling; this is from a US Embassy (http://minsk.usembassy.gov/html/visa_faqs.html) in Minsk(Belarus)
You may bring into the U.S. (without duty/tax charges) one liter (33.8 fl. oz.) of alcoholic beverages if you are 21 years old, if it is for your own use or as a gift, and if it does not violate the laws of the state in which you arrive. Federal regulations allow you to bring more than one liter of alcoholic beverage for personal use, but you will have to pay duty and Internal Revenue Service tax. While federal regulations do not specify a limit on the amount of alcohol you may bring for personal use, unusual quantities are liable to raise suspicions that you are importing the alcohol for other purposes, such as for resale. Customs officers are authorized by Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) to make on-the-spot determinations that an importation is for commercial purposes, and may require you to obtain a permit to import the alcohol before releasing it to you. If you intend to bring back a substantial quantity of alcohol for your personal use, you should contact the Customs port through which you will be entering the U.S. in order to make prior arrangements.

Well it depends. They can take them away, deny entry, or give them a fine if its found later (like in the case of trying to sneak in goods without claiming them). But I don't know Canadian Law and it also depends on the liquor I believe. Like I know that for a long time it was illegal in New York to leave the state with more than a certain number of bottles of New York State Wine.theCryptofishist wrote:I'm not clever enough to find the terms to do this search, but what is the sort of trouble a non-citizen finds herself in for bringing in two extra liters of alcohol? I'll look it up. Might take time though. If thats ok. I don't want to lie.
