Let's see, today's item is complete paranoia and panic, because things are going beyond well, and it frightens me.

I think I am officially placed in a camp.
Someone is bringing me a bicycle.
I might have a tent set up and waiting for me.
I have the ride from the airport.
EGADS.

/looks furtively around

Alright, universe, come out! This joke isn't funny...

Does anybody think this would be easily user repaired if it arrived in unworking condition? They are all being advertised as untested...

I don't know anything about it. Who would you be talking to? Could you swap out working electronics under the facade?

When I had a Miata, I had an old phone in it (with the curly cord and everything). We thought it was funny to ride around with the top down, talking onto it.

It'll look cool, whether it works or not.

They have to be wired together. 2 wired together... one on the street, one in the shade... ring ring stranger walking by.... "hello?" "Metropolitan Services... would you be able to take our survey?, or some such nonsense. It would probably be cheaper to do a simple intercom on a post.

Could multiple units be wired together to all connect and ring? Oh the possibilities..

The generator alone could provide endless fun when connected to the correct body parts or interactive art.

I think the former would be the latter.

Contact motskyroonmatick on eplaya. Last year in stag camp we had one in his shop, black rock city welding and repair about 200 feet from group shade. He would hang with the crew if there weren't people around and then people would call when they needed a repair. He was able to call us as well if he needed someone.

It seemed to work pretty well...although he was in his shop 90% of the time anyway...lots of welding to be done!!

Anywho...brought my costumes over to my friends house last night. We edited my collection a bit then decided on what I still need. Looks like I have too many projects ahead of me...but I can bang it out! I HAVE FAITH IN MYSELF!

Big problem today. Opened up the tent I got for my brother-in-law a few months back and found out it is almost all screen. Definitely won't work on the Playa.
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.

Sew material over the vents. Cover tent with big old blanket and use clamps to keep it on. Voila. :D

If it was cheap, maybe, otherwise return it for something more suitable!

Would this type of radio be able to communicate with someone on a CB?

Direct connect. The two large thumb terminals are for the wires...

Think I may take the rain flap since it is already sized, cut it up and sew it in place over the screen areas. This tent was meant for Burningman only so it can be experimented with.

Also found my old dehydrator, time to make fruit chips!

These phones are hard wired together as the previous poster mentioned. I use normal phone wiring to connect mine. I bought a huge box of it and just spool off what I need. Each additional phone you add to the system makes the ringer work half as loud. Mine ring very well at BM with just the 2 connected together. 4 of them together not so well due to background noise.
There is no cross compatibility with CB radio. If you would like to communicate by CB the "emergency" CB kits work really well. Magnet mount antenna, Lighter plug power socket and a pretty easy to use hand set. Other wise you could just set up some form of permanent base station in camp and run it off of a 12 volt battery.

Burn on!

Thanks for the info. I was wondering because many of the daily-driver artcars have CB radios. Oh well.

I had a productive day, got some packing done, mounted a solar light atop my flag pole, gathered some totes of gear up, rewired some led string lights, got most of my stuff out of the shed and into "the pile" started pulling all the dead batteries out of blinkies, lasers, and old string lights, emptied out my tool box and re-packed it, and made a "dead glow sticks go in here" jug that I'm going to attach to the street sign on my corner. Tomorrow is a trip to Swedish walmart aka Ikea, they have the best batteries and they're hella cheap.
What other people think about you is none of your business.

That's the way to go. Cheap shoes and insoles have never failed to not be comfortable for me, at a burn.

Love the idea about the insoles. That was the one thing on my packing list I forgot to write down. I have prescription insoles so added them to my pile. Thx!

Thanks for the reminder about the insoles guys...would have TOTALLY forgotten them!

As for IKEA, great tip! Had no idea if their batteries would be good or not.

Today I am going through all my gear, washing it, repairing it and making sure I don't need to buy a new one. :D

Woot woot.. love the helpful reminder contributions.. :D

Not a physical item, but today I finally started a little running notepad .txt file on my computer desktop of all the events and addresses of friends that I don't want to miss. Easy to hear about your buddy at 3:30 and E but remember to write it down as you collect them!
