Nothing says "City" like a little Barbershop Harmony!

I am a member of SPEBQSA, or the Society for Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America (whew!).

I think it'd be an old-timey freakout if we could get a quartet together and sing a bunch of tunes for unsuspecting burners. A traveling show, if you will.

I sing lead (I'm 34), and unfortunately don't know any other parts. My repertoire is limited, but I'm a quick learner.

Sounds like it would be fun. I'd stop and listen if I ran into you out there. Too bad I can't sing; but I do listen well.

I have heard Gershwin's Rapsody in Blue played on a banjo and Dark Side of the Moon done bluegrass style so all things are possible. You might try Ode to Joy from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony or Warren Zevon's Werewolves of London.

I'm a virgin burner, but I sing (tenor) well enough--and love the idea of wandering around belting them out.

We're halfway there! We need a bass and a baritone! We can do this! There are 40,000 people at this thing, CERTAINLY we can find a bass and a baritone!

am a baritone with a bass extension,
and occasionally do barbershop style singing telegrams...

but am also a committment-phobe
when it comes to playa activities
as it can be difficult to coordinate
and I teeter back and forth between whether it's work or vacation...
