Since help has already been rendered:

C, undoubtably you've heard that BM is a gifting culture.

First timers generally put some indication on their person of their country of origin and their first time status. This makes people more helpful and generally people have "first timer gifts" that they save for them.

It's a custom of sorts.

So you should bring/wear any French themed clothing/hats, etc. And it's great if you make a sign or sash that says "THis is my first time here, surprise me!"

okay, how cute is frenchie with that opening subject and gifting willingness. Guy? Girl?? Now wouldn't it be fun seeing some interaction with Zsu Zsu. Hoping someone adopts "c" for their camp, (sadly I'm not going) because he/she seems like a rewarding newbie in a camp experience.

You do know that you can only bring in one liter of hard liquor duty free.

You can bring more in, you just have to pay for the privilege. It'll be on the customs website, if you want to make a judgment if it's worth it to you.
There is also a Mutant Vehicle called "The Playa Frog" maybe you want to find it and take a ride.

If I would of thought registering as "c" on eplaya would of worked, I'd would of done it back in the day. Damn it.

Well as a boy C, I'll call you girl C.

Hi Girl C!!

Welcome to eplaya. Please check the link phil posted. You should be able to find a ride from San Fran with out much issue, and it would cost you a lot less then renting a car. In fact, I highly encourage you to find a rideshare.

For better organization, start making a packing pile of the stuff you are going to bring across the pond. Have a list next to it and check off the items as you add. Once you get to the states, and if you happen to be sharing a ride with other burners. Ask a vet to go over your list of stuff that you where going to buy here. It'll help.

Feel free to send me a PM if you have questions. I'm always helpful to other single letter named people.
I have a little bit of Savannah with me. Shhh...
