Ordered 9 yards of faux cheetah fur from Distinctive Fabrics.. planning on doing 3 x 3 yard rectangles with rounded triangle ends. Fabric should be here tomorrow.. and then the fun begins! Still trying to figure out the best way to stuff it though. It should be a beast..

TOTALLY love distinctive fabrics. They aren't the cheapest, but they always give ya exactly what you ordered and VERY quickly.
Finally moving to SF...can't WAIT!

If you do go with foam packing peanuts, maybe put them in trash bags first. That way if one of the seems becomes a little stretched peanuts wont be falling out. Also, If something (like beer) is spilled, it will only allow it to go into the fur, and not soak into the peanuts and leave nasty old drink smells.
Why don't ya stick your head in that hole and find out? ~piehole

Actually, it wasn't bad.. $7/yard with 20% discount!

Looks like I caught the end of the July 20% discount.. it's only 15% this month. Use coupon code ALL810 when you checkout..

Actually..

Does anyone know NV paraphernalia laws? I'd love to bring some nice big (tobacco) water pipes and bubblers to gift out as well but I have a no tolerance policy for anything remotely illegal in my vehicle.. Some states are crazy these days on anything even remotely related to items that may or may not have illegal intent and I know that NV has some pretty draconian drug laws..

mmmmmmm glass preetttty! I love glass, love working with it and looking at it. It's like candy. This is a lovely gift idea.
Totally beautiful. Glass is a wonderful gift. Each one is a little unique and it's something someone can wear on AND off the playa. For people like me who cannot boldly proclaim their love for the playa at work or in other parts of their default life can wear it and have that little bit of home with them.

Started decorating Mr. OhCarie's shorts, knowing that he feels most comfortable in his cargo shorts I took an old pair and covered it in fur, cut outs from tee shirts and iron-ons.

I have funky outfits for him, but come day 2 or 3..he's gonna regress back to his ol' stand-bys--I know him.

AWESOME!

I also like how it appears your yard is the exact same size as the shade! Too perfect!
LOL Thanks VCG (can I call you that?) Actually the grass is kind of weirdly geometric and the shade is on three different kinds of surfaces. It's holding steady though in 40 mile an hour winds no problem. We only staked three of the six legs.

Our dear friend Bob bent us some Playa staples out of rebar today. It's 18" rebar bent into a "U" shape. It'll hold things down nicely. He said to just pry it out with a pick. It'll also be flush with the ground so a solar light and some safety tape ought to be enough warning for folks.

I;m sure you do. I fell in love with glass; it's sort of one of the things fallen by the wayside.

I love Tasty Bites - been eating them for years before I took them to BM. I like being able to eat right out of the pouch, and it makes for small moop.

I wasted my productivity time last night sewing a stripey thing, I used my

as a pattern/model.

And I made something for a secret thing in camp.

Tonight: utility belt and cloak. Gotta finish the basics before on to the finery.

Do you take the Tasty Bites out of the boxes & label the pouches? I think we'll have to do that to reduce packaging & not end up with Mystery Bites. 8)

Oh yeah, of course I take them out of the boxes. I take as much packaging off as feasibly possible. If I can move something into smaller or burnable packaging, I do that.

I'll camp for a week and leave with a grocery bag's worth of trash.

The pouches are imprinted with what's inside - at least the ones I have sitting on my living room floor are...

I might have a different brand, come to think of it. I never labeled them, since I like them all - and mostly got palak paneer.

That's the one I like best, too. But there are LOTS of brands.
