I know their last official year was 2008, when they burned the bar etc. on Sunday or Monday. But I thought they were supposed to morph into something else in 2009, but I never found them/it. Any insight?

It sounded like some of them went to Spankys last year. But you know how reliable word on dusty streets can be... so who knows for sure.

On another note, it's a damn shame they left. Only place around to hear goth music is that crappy 80s stuff on Wednesday, and around thunderdome when nothings going on.

I was told by one of them that a lot of them were going different ways to work on different things. I'm sure there are clumps of them working on projects but it sounded like "spikes" as a whole didn't just change directions to a different project. I wasn't friends with any of their core people so I couldn't tell you what any of 'em are working on now.

A campmate of mine, was also involved with Spike's. She organizes the Roller Derby @ Black Rock Roller Disco.

It is my personal opinion that Spike's was a victim of its own success. It was a really great place in 2004. It exploded in spectacular fashion in the later years when it got too sexy for it's shirt. That is just my own personal opinion. If they had left it exactly as it was in 2004, it probably would be still there today.

Planet Earth does a "goth" night, and I passed by a bar somewhere last year that was playing Interpol, and I had to go sit down for a spell.

Planet Earth will have a Goth Night on Wednesday. It's all 80s stuff... so you know, like 9 people dancing.

I know how you feel Veleda.. it kind of sucks. So when the 2011 threads go live be on the watch out of my gothie post. I haz ideas... dark ideas... *evil hand rubbing*

likely i'll be stuck atmy village since i've done it now for four years.. but damn... it would be fun to have a year off and work on a different project. :)

Not true, Planet Earth has a Goth Night on wednesday night as well. And you'll hear a lot of goth/industrial/new wave etc. the rest of the week too.
