BTW. My average actual electric consumption is about $30 per month. But my bill comes to about $80 per month with all the taxes and fees added.
And to get my bill this low I have spent about $4000 in new energy efficient equipment.
Point is... I put my money where my mouth is. Al does not. John does not.

I'm cool with being stupid. But I'm not sure what you mean about the BP thing. Could you post a link to a post I made?Shambala wrote:So you couldn't stay away? BP capped their well. You were wrong on virtually every point you ever tried to make, so you just evaporate and come back with new stupidity.
You will be wrong again, because dumb is forever.

You polluters suck ass. I put my money where my mouth is. How about you?
And yes, I'm a conservative free thinker. Who the fuck are you?
You're right.
No one cares to address any one of your first three posts
I wouldn't put that in your mouth; do you know where it's been?
And, finally, zzzz snore zzz snort.

So is there any actual explination why he started this and a close burningman it's bad for the earth thread, or is he just clutching at any available straw in order to condemn us?

The long and the short of it is that regardless of whatever conservative, shit smearing agenda the OP has towards Gore the fact remains that he, probably more than any one individual I can think of, is responsible for drawing more people's attention to the subject of climate change than anyone else on the planet.
I find that an extraordinary legacy to have associated with one's name.
I'm wondering what bragging rights 'burningquestions' can hold up and lay claim to other than sophomoric shit-stirring and red herring drive-by posts to a group that largely don't give a rat fuck about what s/he thinks.

Of course this beg the question of whether Gore ever actually said that.and, where would we be had he not invented the internet?
Just as the astronomer Carl Sagan never said "...billion and billions of stars." there seems to be absolutely no available reference that Gore ever actually said (or implied) that he invented the internet.
As usual a lie has traveled half way around the world before truth has a chance to put its socks on.

Internet pioneers Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn noted that, "as far back as the 1970s, Congressman Gore promoted the idea of high speed telecommunications as an engine for both economic growth and the improvement of our educational system. He was the first elected official to grasp the potential of computer communications to have a broader impact than just improving the conduct of science and scholarship [...] the Internet, as we know it today, was not deployed until 1983. When the Internet was still in the early stages of its deployment, Congressman Gore provided intellectual leadership by helping create the vision of the potential benefits of high speed computing and communication. As an example, he sponsored hearings on how advanced technologies might be put to use in areas like coordinating the response of government agencies to natural disasters and other crises."

And it's pollutrers like Al Gore, John Edwards, Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, who are the problem.Ugly Dougly wrote:No, I didn't reply to the stupid poll. Our natural environment is going to Hell in a handbasket and all people can do is point their fingers.
WHY THE FUCK WON'T YOU CONDEMN THEM PUBLICLY AND OFTEN?
Really? And where are the phony war protesters? They've sure become silent.
