Orphan Camp forming
What is Orphan Camp?
: a potential group of people gathering to share a few resources to evolve a camp, one without dues or requirements to participate in a predetermined way.
some of us are newbies (aka virgins); some have been a couple of times and some are experienced. some want to be part of the camp, while others want to be friendly neighbors. we have a small pool of resources growing, but are still unsure how we will find each other and how we will pick the place to camp. howEVER, i think that that's part of the adventure; we don't even pretend to know everything!
if you're intersted, post, email or pm me and i'll add you to the list of orphans looking for a home.
cheers!

we did this three years ago and it has turned into something amazing. now we are over 100 people strong and have a family both on and off the playa. this idea is an amazing one and i highly recommend that others join this orphan camp! you guys should all come over to stag camp for grilled cheeses on tues thurs dusk. around 7-8 and d-f just holla and you will find us. it would be great if the orphans and the staggers chilled! as far as finding everyone. the first people who do the land grab in a basic predetermined area, should then put up signs in predetermined places ie outer road street signs, directing people to camp, also list your camp at playa info immediately so anyone who gets lost can find the camp that way. problem solved.

Sic Pup, go to your profile and unclick the button that says disable bbcode.
Also, the lot of you, get a rough idea of how many of you there are, and who's getting on playa first. Then think of a rough area where you want to be and have that first person grab enough land. Then one of the advance party can put signs on street poles, a note in the playa info computers and another sign on the playa info board, so the ones who arrive later have an idea where to find the camp.

Those are great ideas. Fortunately, all of those (and more) are already in progress. Just pm Vitta for membership and see.

Orphan Camp UPDATE
Inundated? Not too bad--but enough to cut and paste below!!!
Welcome fellow orphan--if you private message me your email, I will send you the list. I'll send you the list automatically). When you look at the list as a Google doc, you can add yourself and put an * next to your name if you're committed, or a ? if you're considering.
You can also add the stuff you're bringing to share, with your name after. (I'm trying to add things when people email me, but it's better if you add it yourself.)
YES! We need to figure out approximate camping spot soon, determine the party (ies) most likely to arrive earliest and have them stake claim, post on the infoboard/map for those coming after. Maybe a Skype conference call or early next week?

Hi orphans. Just FYI, a bunch of us camped at 2:30 and I for 2008 ( our first year ) and again in 2009 ( since we liked it there ), and it is a good spot you can find plenty of room for sure, and not too noisy at night. Close to the port a potties too ( but don't camp too close or downwind ).
Just an idea.
Just an idea.

No need. I'm still with the camp that spun off eplaya in 2006.
