Slightly different at altitude. Not much, just making conversation. I'm sure someone will be along with timetables and information on a plethora of stoves, fuel, and containers cut and pasted from an assortment of sources, and someone else to contradict them, and a third person to say it doesn't matter at all, the water will boil eventually. And someone to make a dick joke.

There, I just saved the thread four posts.
Hell yeah!

Picked up a agm deep cycle battery today.

Found out about factory 2nds.

This battery is normaly $300 to $350 and I got it for $130 just because there was no lable.

So call the battery stores in your area and ask about 2nds.

Still working on the shade cloth sides for our structure. I ran out of grommets and had to order another batch. I should finally be finished and have the entire thing set up tomorrow.

The mister's coat is FANTASTIC! We had a seamstress friend sew the cool NYC printed fabric onto it. WOW! Still need to add lights but I'll get a photo up of the coat as is soon. A thousand thanks again to Orchid for finding that fabric! I think we need to make you a Manhattan to celebrate!

My wife took two of my t-shirts that were a little large on me, cut out the ad/logo info and covered the holes with cameo netting. I'm not sure what to make of it but they are definitely different. I might have some strange "tanning" patterns. This weekend she is going to make me two vests that will have a string of 30 led color changing light sewn on and a pocket for the battery pack.
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.

Has everyone gotten a net bag for wet garbage? And an old towel to dieper it?

Cleared the van out down to the floor board.. Installed the passenger seat facing back.. This will be a recliner in the wind storms.. Put in a good bed and a Lug a Lue.. Tucked in three jacks, bars and other road tools.. Fit cooler into the van and installed a new drain valve.. Now the cat has me down for nap..

Started to apply the acrylic to the 14 ft tall valentine shaped heart I'm building. Wish me luck.

YIPEEE!!! More tule!

A very busy weekend so far:

Today we FINISHED!!!! the shade structure, it's terrific!

Image

We hired our friend Joy to sew the mister's coat. She did a FANTASTIC JOB! She's available to do sewing work for anyone in the SF Bay Area (PM me if you want her contact info):

Image

I worked on my coat:

I started working on spatting my Keen boots in pink pleather:

I made coffee bags:

AND...we rode our bikes on a good first ride. We're committed to riding every day until we leave. It was tough getting used to the no gear bike and I'm still confused by the foot brakes (embarrassing).

I'm working on my bike, found a bag to carry around the playa and bought a truck bed cover today.

Thanks! I usually use a French press but didn't want to deal with the grounds on the playa. This way I can just toss the used coffee bags into the garbage net bag, let them dry out and compost at home later.

Oh my gosh, is that fabric?! It's amazing! Where did you find it? Gorgeous!

We had a blacksmith friend make us some 18" heavy duty stakes, so we don't have to use rebar. We'll use those on our shade structures and our daughter's tent. And I ordered us some green lasers to play with. :D

Saturday, flipped four more bikes. Sunday, got a new tent, tarps, stove and a few other essentials. Getting down to the nitty gritty now: Gorilla tape, safety pins, Emergen-C, perishables, dry ice, new undies, curry paste, baby corn, coffee cone, booze and I need to find my sledge hammer.

Oh and I have to get my own bike ready.

And yet, I still feel grossly unprepared. Why is that?

Thanks, Orchid! We've got our costumes set, and I'm not going to copy you--but it's really fantastic! Will he wear it to the ePlaya meet & greet on Thursday so I can see it in person? :D

I'll make sure my mister wears his coat to the meet-n-greet. I'll be wearing a hat, crocheted by the same seamstress, that has a complete Barbie doll on top. I so look forward to meeting you Bling...and all the rest of you folks I've come to know here.
