Introduction & question about where to camp.

Post by Randall Hunt » Thu Aug 05, 2010 12:02 pm

Well, I'm finally going to make it this year -- the theme had a lot to do with it. Urban design is a personal interest, though I've no academic training for it. I've read several of Christopher Alexander's books, among many others, and I lived at Arcosanti about 7-1/2 years (cumulatively) as a structural welder, tour guide and librarian. My study of Paolo Soleri's concepts led me to write a primer on the principles of arcological design (http://www.wildapache.net/randhunt/arcology).

I understand there will be three areas where folks are encouraged to develop the theme of Metropolis. As a single camper, will I be able to find space in one of them? Are there any others here from Arcosanti?

Best wishes to you all!

If you go straight to the Burning Man home page and look at the top, you'll see a link for 2010 Theme Camps. Start talking to people and maybe you'll find a camp.

And bring lots of fucking glow sticks.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Hi there!

We'd totally be interested in having you at Sacred Spaces Village.

We actually have someone that spent time at the Arcology place in our village and we're doing a number of workshops on community development and sustainable design. If you'd be interested in giving a talk or participating even better!

There may not be time to build that masterpiece.
