Lone Wolf Virgin
Hello All,
35 y/o male from Denver, Colorado reporting for roll call.
Figured I might as well make an introductory post here since I'll be making the trek in one months from now. I joined the forum in May 2009 (when the idea first wiggled its way into my mind that I needed to go to Burning Man), but I knew that getting everything together for the 2009 burn was not in the cards for me.
I've spent the last 14 months reading ePlaya gathering nuggets of wisdom between the snark (love it!) and rounding up materials for my camp site.
A friend of mine from New Jersey was supposed to be my travel companion, but I'm not sure he's going to swing the effort. Initially I told myself "this is something I can't do by myself", but as time has passed I've realized that I must do this by myself. Otherwise what is self-reliance?
I'll likely go back to lurking now and chuckling at the snark. Be well!

Excited: yes
Prepared: having fun getting there
Dusty: only 4 more weeks!
I actually snagged a quote from you on my tumblr just over a week ago! To wit, "Be simple. Keep a happy heart. Have no expectations & the World will never paint the same day twice." - CLARKcon via ePlaya
Namaste!

I think I've found my "walking-down-the-aisle" tune for the wedding. Any idea if the Swedish schoolchildren are booking live performances?DhammaSeeker wrote:Thanks for the warm and sticky welcome, jkisha, and that's what I'm counting on, mudpuppy000!
Someone tell me there's a sound camp with this blasting on loop!

I believe that those are actually a team of Norwegian midgets engaged in a brilliant disinformation campaign.NellieX wrote: Any idea if the Swedish schoolchildren are booking live performances?

Music
Bring some good music for the ride. After that, you won't need your own music anymore. There's something playing somewhere 24 hours a day. I was wandering around on my own at 2:00am a couple of years ago, having lost my group at some point during the night. Walking into center camp cafe expecting it to be dead at that hour, instead Albino had just taken the stage and the place was packed with sweating, dancing bodies moving to the sounds of Afro beat played by an 8 piece band including a horn section, and congas. It just never stops.
