Are Undercover Cops Asking to Join Your Camp??

On Monday I received an email from two people wishing to join our camp. I wrote back to them with an explanation of what we do and what types of people stay with us. I told them we could make room for another car and their tent and gear. The bulk of our camp is made up of members of Black Rock FX and FAST staff members. They suddenly lost interest.....
It could be that we did not sound like good targets or perhaps they don't like frozen margaritas, stickers and fireworks......

YES!!!! Do you think they are legit or under cover. I googled one of them and I wouldn't mind being under the covers with her. This is really interesting. If you like I will publish their email addresses. I have no problem fucking with people like that.

I got the same email. Tried to forward to my computer at work and it got quarinteened by our filtering process. They did not respond to my response either.

And I don't think Melenie, or whatever her name is, is a real actress.

Melanie looks legit. If that is the case, I'll bet Avery is too.

Anyway, we don't do anything in our camp that warrants a cops interest. Unless they like to dance and drink good wine !!

Sure, they may very well be legit. Or not. The least a pair of world travelers could do is respond in some fashion. Common courtesy goes a long way. We have invited noobs into our camp many times. This just felt wrong. I can't really even explain why. And I don't have any reason to be paranoid about under covers, just the idea bothers me.

Ya, I sent Avery a friend request on FB.

Man, the " undercover cops are going to get us " paranoid mentality is what will get us, not cops.

I can't really believe that undercover cops would spend all this time and energy to bust the average Burner for smoking the occasional joint anyway. Now, if you have a pound of meth in your tent, it's just a matter of time before you go to either prisom or the morgue.........IMO.

This just felt wrong. I can't really even explain why. And I don't have any reason to be paranoid about under covers, just the idea bothers me.

There is something to be said for intuition (not everything to be said, by far--just something!) I'm not even talking about whether they're LEOs; it may be that something in their manner may remind you of a non-contributor, sparkle pony, or whathaveyou. Then again, it could be that someone with the same name threw rocks at you when you were 6.

I think that when you get a hinky feeling about someone, & something of importance is involved, you should table any major decisions involving them until you've had a chance to think it over & determine exactly what's bothering you.

Is it okay to just leave those email addresses out for anyone to harvest and harrass?
Perhaps one of the mods could "bot proof" those posts.

It is NEVER okay to post another person's personal information such as an email address. That is a clear violation of the TOS. I cannot "bot proof" a post or thread, but I sure as hell can edit the information. Now, if someone is stupid enough to post their own information, they have to live with it. But even if you feel "hinky" about them, you can't "expose" them here. What you do in a PM is your business, but would you want the same some to you?

By 'bot proof' I meant to edit them. Nice post btw. You can play bad cop to my good cop any day.

That sounds like fun: Trolling for UC LEO's at rave camps.

Bring a tin of Altoids and covertly hand them out and have posse take pics of anyone who expresses extreme interest in the 'transactions'.
Be sure to tell the recipients that they are 100% un-altered candy.

Probably best to hand them out to your friends, lots of people won't take candy from strangers at BM :) I've handed them out before, but made sure to keep the wrapper to show they are 'fresh'
