Perhaps worth remembering these folks that took up the slack.

I'm sure not going to forget this.
I'm surprized paypal care about the publicity.
They already have a huge boycott going because of their anti-2nd Amendment policies.
I'd love to have the money they are driving away every day.
Along with ebay's anti-american policies, they have succeeded in creating operational businesses that could replace both of them.

WTF? Umm... I'll reserve judgement for when I see it in person, but I'm a bit doubtful right now.

im sorta stuck on the fence too, it almost seems dated, like the facades of early eighties department stores with diagonal wood boards, half way between rustic and bauhaus.
wtf did i just type?
it must be the HGTV in the background acting as sub-conscious noise.
anyway, i wasnt sold on Der Waffle until i saw the motherfucker burn.
loved the waffle, i only wish someone had had the forethought to order 50,000 gallons of ice cream and a helicopter to take it over and dump it right on top, mid burn...
then hand out spoons.

those crazy belgiques....

Its excess, it's schlepp... it is apparently past the end of the temples worthy of the name, and looks like a discount house special (at least from the drawings) that is just fracking overblown and, sorry, ugly.
If it's the temple of ugly, then it wins first prize. If it's the temple of unimpressive overgrown schlock, again blue ribbion. But graceful? Memorializing? Beautiful? Hell, it looks like the plywood maze under the man a few years ago.
I don't know what it's supposed to be a temple of, but from this distance it looks like its only purpose is to out-lumber the Uchronica (aka belgian waffle) to make a big fucking bonfire and not much else. I hope the drawings are so far off it doesn't look as bad as it makes it out to be...
I'm afraid I may miss that burn. Sorry, unless something is radically different than what I saw, well... IMO Yeech.
Or am I not expressing myself well?

Yeah, it looks like Uchronia with walls.
I think what has happened with the temples since David Best stepped aside is what has happened to a lot of projects.
Maybe I should build The Temple Of Popcorn and make it look like a big wooden grandstand ...
It is sort of like deciding to be a comedian. You can't just give someone a script and put them on a stage and have them try to be funny. Some people are funny without really trying. It just comes naturally. It is almost like the temple crew is trying to "force it" a little. It doesn't look like it is coming naturally.
This year's design looks like it gives a lot of space for people to write on, as if that was a major design criterion. But there doesn't seem to be much artistic catharsis there for me in what looks like a bunch of triangular Uchronias built out of plywood. 2004 is still my favorite.

yes.
hands down, hands up, whatever.
Last years Burned very Gracefully, almost fluid, like a water tap of fire spilling upwards. I was very impressed with the WAY it burned..
it was simple, and elegant.
2007 was too, but the motherfucker took too goddamn long to burn...i took a nap half way through.
