contact lenses on the playa
question on eyewear/contact lenses. of course i'm going to be wearing alot of sunglasses and googles, but wondering if anyone has experience with there contact lenses, good and or bad on the playa. dry, ripping, bringing extras, i have some fun color contacts, should i even bother bring the fun ones.. but my regular ones i need to see. I do not have glasses and thats no an option to get before the burn. And i would image its hard to put googles/sun glasses over glass too.. thanks

I use extended wear contacts- I never ever take them out on the playa, though I have a back-up pair if needed. I've never needed them. Bring lots of drops, you'll be fine.

When you use the search feature, use the word "and" in between words. For instance, "Gerlaach and live and webcam".ygmir wrote:I can hardly use the search function. every query I put in, gives hundreds, if not thousands for hits.........
but, I'm pretty 'puter challenged.
This will limit the search to posts with ALL those words, not just one of them. Without the "and" in between, you will get every post with the word "live" in it.
edited to intentionally misspell Gerlaach, to keep it from actually showing up in the search!
I've worn rigid gas-permeables and disposables, and actually never had any real issues with them. I always bring a few extra pairs just in case and backup glasses, but never needed them. I wear goggles in dust storms and squint if a big cloud comes my way and I don't have my goggles on. I think the dust is so fine, that it doesn't irritate, just dries them out a bit faster.
I use standard ski Goggles which have a foam filter all the way around the air holes, which helps a lot.

I wear contacts on the playa with no problem either. I did take them out a couple of evenings to give my eyes a rest and to let the contacts rehydrate. But I was pretty new to wearing them then. I'm thinking this year they'll be in 24/7.
