Fuck, I saw a horrific news story last night about a taxi slamming into a scooter. They were not wearing helmets. I had a terrible feeling about it. Turns out they are two of our lovely Utah burners, dear to me, even if I didn't say it a lot. One will pull through her head injuries, the other has passed. Fuck. fuckfuckfuckfuck. The fire conclave will be missing a piece of its heart this year.

FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!! why is it every year just before the event we hear about burners losing their life? Last year was the guy that went missing in Santa Cruz, then they found his truck and body a week or two before the event....Fuck I hate this part.

Working my 8 day old injured to shit knee as I type on the exercise bike. Riding 10 miles a day now, pushing through the pain and icing after. Come a LONG way in a week thanks to treating my body right and not giving up.

Two years ago a Spanish airliner went down killing 154 people. The reason it crashed was released today. The MD-82 was controlled by (I shit you not) by Microsoft Windows and the central computer was so infected with trojans and other programs that it interfered with the normal operation. Apparently the maintenance laptop was infected which in turned infected the computers on the plane.
