Satan's Birthday

Postby dana » Fri Jun 25, 2004 3:47 pm

I'm with Kelly on resurrection since I just found this thread.

I think clandyone, Captain God and XS have oversimplified the issues.

What fascinates me about this thread and the christian web site is the larger picture - which is a question of phenomenology. If you accept the basic spiritual tenet that objective physical reality is not automatically primary and that nonphysical and subjective reality doesn't necessarily flow from that, you need some system of defining what's what in that non-physical realm. Religions avoid this question by defining that system for the spiritual aspirant with all their a priori articles of faith. But whats underneath it all, is that faced with the innate human need to know completely who we are, we don't really trust ourselves to feel our way through the labyrinth of mystery. It always seems to degenerate into a question of dark against light, God v. Satan, good space brothers against the evil reptilian space dudes, etc. etc. ad insaneum. (Or alternatively, we might reject the whole question of religion/spirituality and fall into a different quandary of it being a matter of rationalism vs delusion. We'd still be trapped within a duality that only reflexively produces visions of 'more of the same.')
For this christian, his acceptable sphere of knowledge and experience is clearly defined in the same sense that we understand the world view of Columbus' time - the edges of reality are patrolled by dragons and the Antichrist. In holding fast to Christian theology he has to reject alternatives as being part of Satan's handiwork. Unfortunately in so doing, all he accomplishes is more firmly defining himself as spiritually stuck. He will never find out what his only acceptable source of spiritual wisdom holds in common with the Wiccans, Goddess theology, etc. Ignoring that question - indulging in spiritual elitism is one of the greatest dangers that faces our modern world.
I'm feeling a little demonic  myself right now. I think I might have to post a reply on the bottom of the Christian site and see if that guy has enough balls to respond to this thread and defend his position against the people he's so easily dismissing.[/u]

Too bad for the author of Satan's.

Burning man has nothing to do satan or their so called god or any religion its all about Art and having a good time which so called christion have a hard time dealing with. Especially the good time bit because it is a slave based religion. You know be a good slave and you will be rewarded in the afterlife!

The time is now to have a good life: its too dead when your're dead!

All I wanna know is: Does Satan expect me to get him a present? And what do you buy for The Prince of Darkness that he doesn't already have? I'm thinking either a virgin or a Chia Pet

You mean there isn't a Chia Virgin? How about a Chia Mary Magdalene "clothed in (Chia) hair."

Oh come on, silly! You get him the souls of Christians fallen from the true path of salvation! It doesn't matter how many he has, he always wants more. It's like beanie babies or something. Virgins are defintiely a plus, but if you can arrange one to be sacrificed immediately after being deflowered on a Black Altar, that's even better.

I don't know if this is actually his birthday though. I've always thought Satan was an Aquarius.

Every day is Satan's birthday.

And, did you all know, that puns are the only kind of joke allowed in hell? There's a reason for that, you know...

Christmas is Michael Eisner's birthday, so you're close. I think Geoffrey the Giraffe was born right around that time too.

This is offensive.

Postby PORNandEGGS » Tue May 27, 2008 10:36 pm

We can not believe that PORN & EGGS was not mentioned in the "Many of these independent camps are so disgusting and distasteful that they defy explanation." section. We are, for the record, very offended.

We would also like to point out that Dow Jones opened at 9523 and closed at 9568 for September 3, 2002 and closed above 10000 for the year.
'Coincidence?!' we ask.

Does Satan (or "Stan" as I like to call him) even have a birthday? Was he "born"? Did a calendar exist at that time?

I find the whole thing a little dubious.

Is a $25 gift card from Wal-Mart appropriate for the big guy?

Satan is an angle.. He gets his bad rap from a falling with the big guy.. Who layed some bad word on him..

His job is balance out all this goody two shoes stuff with some bad..

Hell was made up by men. The statement: " Better he be cast into the eternal fires" Was used to invent hell.. Where in reality the eternal fire refered to was the ever burning city dumps of that time..

Jesus and satan are the one and the same

One can't exist without the other!

A failure of the Judeo/ Christian/ Muslim religions and all those that believe in an evil immortal being which imprisons its followers in an unending conflict of good over evil.

But who is good or who is evil is always up to the interpreter!

Happy Birthday! I'm sure either one of you will not die shortly, but will die!
