Going to BM Last Minute

Hi friends, I am suddenly not committed to a job and I am now able to go to Burning Man for the first time. I am so excited to share with all of you!

Today is Friday, and I'd like to leave for BRC on Monday morning. So I'd do all my prep and buying supplies over the weekend.

Do you think this is crazy? Can I show up with my supplies and my tent and find friends there?

Please let me know your tips! Thanks!

My tip is to read the thread titles in each forum (top page at least) and look at most of the threads on the q&A, tips and tricks forum. Spend some time looking at other threads, too, but concentrate on getting yourself ready. If you're not, you'll probably be miserable. But don't get too hung up on things either. You're not likely to need a generator or a large shade structure.
Camp in open camping and meet your neighbors.

I think it's doable, perhaps spendy with money standing in for time. Don't get too elaborate--the less you have the less you need to fuss with it, and the more time to enjoy the event.

Yes, it's crazy! Go for it!

Most of the experienced people are too busy bugging out right now. You need to do your own digging for information at this point.

Search for the right tentage and sunshade to bring. Then find out how much water and what kind of food to bring. Everything else is gravy.

Totally do-able.

Not cheap.

I have most of my supplies, and just making sure I have food, water & my basic survival needs taken care of has taken $200-300 the last few weeks.

And that doesn't include the ticket, the RV, the bike, the clothes......

You could probably do it for $500-600 including ticket (not including getting there) for super basic camping. Tent, water, simple food, other basic supplies (first aid, lights for night-time etc). This budget doesn't include any booze of course.

If you can afford it- go for it. You won't regret it (probably)

And back to doing my last push so I can leave tomorrow night...
