How to meet up with / find friends who arrive before you

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I've searched and can't find any help. My buddy is heading to the playa a few days before I will arrive, and I'm concerned about how we're going to find each other. We're both first timers, and we're not sure if there's some protocol to follow :)

Any suggestions? Neither of us have any idea where we will be camping.

it was not sarcasm. I had to look through the thread by hand (as it were) and I only knew to keep going because I remembered it being there.

And the search function here is kinda sucky.

There's always a big bulletin board near center camp, you could post notices there with camp locations or a meeting place & time. Or just agree to meet on the man side of center camp (for example) at a certain time.

boy.. One of the few times Fishy isn't being sarcastic.. she gets SLAMMED for being sarcastic. classic!

See.. this is why I don't give advice to noobs this close to the burn. They get kinda "testy".

A sign near the road can be useful.
It needs to be on both sides and stand wind.

Be specific at playa info.
Specific.

Ribbons of an agreed color can be useful, on the sign and nearby street corners.

I suppose I can take the hit. I do try and live up to the snark with useful info standard, sometimes I just can't.
