unleaded prices

Post by Bounce530 » Fri Aug 27, 2010 9:52 am

This morning I noticed that the price for unleaded in Northen California dropped from $2.99 to $2.93 at the cheapest place in town. Last weekend in Reno I payed $3.07. Has the price dropped in Reno as well?

Like .05 or .10 is a big deal on a 500 mile drive. What does that save you the cost of an bag of ice?

I saw it for 2.89 yesterday at quick stop on the corner of Mill & Terminal. Cheapest ice in town is at Winco, it's about 1.50 for a 20# bag.

It depends on what your filling up.
Try a 125 gallon tank.

OK, then Six bags of ice.

Now that can make a big difference on a cross country trip over 1,000 miles. But When you're in the desert, what options do you really have? You either need gas then or run out before the next station. And if you are sucking up 125 Gallon, you must be pulling some weight so you don't have many option as if you driving I80 in CA. If the town is big enough, gas usually is cheaper just off the highway than on it. Always pay cash if there's a cash discount, either way, with a large truck, you are going to fill up at one point in Gerlach or Empire. The larger town might have a Mustang Gas Cash Station but do you want to drive through town hauling an 18 wheeler to pull up to one. I don't think so.

There's racing fuel, often with more stable prices.
I suggest sunoco.
You can cut it with the crap they sell as a substitute for gas now.
