Fuck Dave, I''m doing my fucking best to make fucking lemonade. I painted the inside of a drawer, and I"ve got this broken lizard I"m going to glue in there and somehow there's gonna be other stuff and i do love the color, plus I got this statue of an indian couple. The paint is coming off and I think they'll make a lovely centerpiece for something. And I keep thinking I want to do something wiht the Virgin of Guadeloupe.
Meanwhile, I fucking let down my camp to the tune of 4 bottles of vodka, 6 or 8 of cranberry juice, three of pineapple, plus Playa Frog type schwag and the mad scientists are rampaging without me. (At least I hope they are. I"m not much of a leader, so maybe someone else has risen to the occasion.)
And there should be about a hundred more fucks in this post, but I don't have the fucking time to fucking write fuck fuckity-fuck more times. My fucking fingers wrould fucking start bleeding and maiking wierd typos.

Fuck.
My dear old truck died just north of Nixon on 447 post-burn. I cannot complain since she'd given 260,000+ miles without much problem and she got us to the fucking Burn without so much as a grunt. But her fuel injector pump gave up the fucking ghost with one single belch and we coasted to the shoulder in the dark of fucking night and out of fucking cell phone range.
Many thanks to Chabba, our campmate who made the trips back and forth to Fernley so that we could arrange a tow and transport all the other members of our camp
Sat in a fucking hotel in Fernley for three days while I debated on scraping up $2500 for a new pump or trading her in. After much fucking anguish (no seriously... this truck has been with me for better than a quarter of my fucking life) I opted to trade her. Mostly because GMAC would loan on a new fucking vehicle but not on a fucking repair.
I feel like a low down, dirty fucking dog for sending the ol' girl off like that. I hope that she finds a new home in the Nevada outback, kicking up dust and rocks. Karine and I told her goodbye, patted her on the hood and stayed to watch her get loaded on the flatbed truck from the dealer. Whoever gets her is getting a good, solid well cared for truck. Sans a fucking injector pump, that is. I like the thought of her residing near the Black Rock Desert at least. I like to think that since that's where she stopped, she did too.

New truck pulls great, but it has some big tires to fill. Plus it comes with a big 'ol hairy fucking payment. Haven't had one of those fucking things in years.

My mother went in yesterday for surgery to have skin cancer removed and to have a portacath put in. The skin cancer was removed without fuss but they tried 4 different places to put in the portacath and finally fucking gave up. They're sending her to a different hospital with "better equipment"...
She wanted to get this shit done and over with so she can do her chemo and fight this shit...and she gets derailed by a fucking surgeon who "thinks" he can do this surgery. Now her trust in the same professionals who she has to trust to save her is shaken and there's no amount of fucking words I can use to patch damage like that. 4 fucking tries, calling in other surgeons who are like D'oh! we don't know what to fucking do. You're goddammned motherfucking surgeons who went to school for how many fucking years? We're not talking about open heart or brain surgery...this is to put in a simple fucking portacath so you don't tear her arms up sticking so many fucking IV's in her. If you can't even do it right, why in the fuck did the State of Missouri grant you a fucking medical license to begin with?
Fucking clueless idiots...either do it right or don't fucking do it!

Fuck, K, that sucks. I once had a doctor try to put an IV in my hand, sticking me with little numbing shots. Surface shots tend to put me into mild shock (why I can't have more tatts). Both hands, numerous attempts, a dozen or more? A corpsman finally came to my rescue. The backs of my hands were black and blue. I now insist all IVs be placed in teh crook of my elbow in the big veins. I have scar dimples to mark the accessible spots. Fucking doctors.

Fuck. I am paying the Idiot Tax big time.
It was so cool early in the week I didn't drink enough water, and now I have fucking painful gout in my left foot & can't walk (though I feel oddly bonded with Ben Franklin). The Boyfriend is off getting the pills to help get rid of this, and I'm beating myself over the fucking head for being so fucking stupid.
Even fucking veterans can be fucking idiots about the basics of survival.
K- I'm sorry to hear about you're mom's ordeal. I hope she can get some good care.
