Any BLM Citation Stories?

Yeah, damnit to hell. I'm Atticus and this was my first Burn. Early Friday morning a friend and I were sitting outside one of the sound camps on the floor and I was going through my backpack. I didn't have any substances out nor was I 'toking it up' or popping anything in my mouth but all of a sudden I was surrounded by BLM grabbing my arm & backpack and dragging me to their vehicle. They stated they saw me 'stuffing something back into my bag' and used that as a reason to search my gear.

BLM never asked for any consent or even gave me a chance to object. They came up to me, grabbed both my friend and I and literally dragged us to the truck and started searching both our gear. My friend was clean but I was cited for possession.

I filed a report with the rangers and the ACLU but I'm wondering if anyone here has actually hired a lawyer to represent themselves? My friend filed a report with ACLU along with mine stating that BLM did not have consent and no probable cause to conduct the search. Any suggestions for lawyers would be greatly appreciated.

Try searching on this board on "lawyers for burners." They started a few years back. i don't know, some people have reported slow response times. The impression I have from stories on this board is that if you actually show up and contest it, you have a pretty good chance it will dismissed. They seem to be counting on our not fighting it, and just paying the fine. The the problem with paying the fine is that it also ends up on your record.

Confirm this. I'm clever at some things. This isn't really one of them.
