I need a camp to belong to!

Post by maryanimal » Sat Sep 11, 2010 8:53 pm

Hey, next year will be my first BM experience and I be needing a camp to call home. Would some one out there be willing to accept me and get me through a BM experience? Thank you and goodnight.

Try finding some burners in your area, meet them, listen to them.
Make a few regional events, you will do ok.

Read the survivial guide......

I've been trying. I live in eastern washington and have tried to contact a few people from the seattle area. I'll have to look further into this. I know thatSeacompression is coming up on Oct 2, I think. Thanks for the help! I appreciate it! :D

Lotta good burners up your way - seek them out, do the regional, etc.

Actually, you DON'T need to find a camp, and in a way going solo or with a friend can be MUCH cooler.

Anyway, if with a camp is how to go you want, then look you shall and the camp you belong with you shall find...

Thank you for all the good advise! Probably going solo or with a friend would be the better option. I have a theme in mind of my own!

My brain stutters every now and then. My theme camp will be in a tropical theme. The squirrels in my head are working overtime with all kinds of different ideas! Even if it's just me!! I'm sure I'll meet a lot of cool and crazy people!

Tropical is good. Tiki is not uncommon on playa. If you do it, do it well.

Or not, you're allowed to be on a steep learning curve your first year or three.

Resist the temptation of tiki influenced grass skirts and raffia covered umbrellas. Very MOOPy. You'll see it out there, but don't contribute to the mess!

No grass skirts or grassy umbrellas. I thought about how messy it could be and fire + grass = pretty freakin dangerous!. I'm just going to lei everyone! and use some lights and El wire. So tiki torches are allowed?

No. Sorry. Open flame in a tent city is asking for trouble.

Ok...no fire...I can comply to that. And with the dust storms I'm told about, any open flame would be disasterous! Thanks fishy!

Didn't the rules change on tiki torches?

Still strict safety rules.
