BloodBath&Beyond

Post by TomServo » Mon Sep 06, 2010 7:12 pm

BloodBath&Beyond will be back in 2011. Due to financial bullshit, it was minimal, but thanks to my neighbors, it worked. So id like to return the favor. The premise is a bloody mary bar, but anyone who likes tending bar....and can contribute booze can do whatever they want after 8am. PM me if your 100% serious! Otherwise, just indulge me on the main. Again, thanx 9:45 and Hanoi!!!

Once again, I am betrayed by history.

Edited to add: Too fucking bad I didn't think of this till now, but having a bar out there called Hanoi Jane's could have been pretty funny.

Well, at least until I offended someone and had to get into that dreary political "discussion" again.

i would like to contribute. This was my first burn and i just felt a little to intimidated to visit any theme bar/camps. I had a great time with my family so I am not complaining. I would like to be able to contribute to a bar and feel welcome when i step through the door. "Where everybody knows your name" Anyways this also might help me feel more confident in going to other camps.

Well, lucky, if you get on with Tom and the rest of his crew and if you show you can work your butt off for the camp, then happy ending.

If you don't, we really do try to be open and friendly at the Booby Bar. And I think that's true of most of the other x-hundred bars on playa. You might have to step outside your comfort zone. After three years of camping with (and five years of belonging to) a bar camp, I'm as introverted as ever. I'm less hung up about it.

You like the buttons crypto? Were not a 24/7 bar, so not much work.

Aha. Sound wonderful. One of the horrors of having to cancel your bm vacation is that you miss all the schwag.

prom

Post by silkkat813 » Mon Sep 20, 2010 7:33 pm

I bought a dress for 2010 hoping there would be a prom. I heard there was a homecoming dance but never made it. But I'll be all set for a Bloody prom.

The GTFO buttons were passed out, I suspect some are left over.

that was my theme night at the Booby Bar, but instead I got the fuck out and watched Megatropilis burn(and then spent some time in a beautiful whiteout) while some of the other camp members from our village ran the bar.

I am such a failure.

Yes, Tom made those GTFO buttons.
They were not passed out as much as I liked since I was with Dick at the Megatropolis burn, and then navigating thru the whiteout.
Thanks Tom!

I gave a crap load to some DPW friends at Exodus.
They loved them!

As I was looking through these posts I saw that someone said you had to work your butt off at BB&B. Not true! We're not telling people that join our camp that they'll have specific things to do. We want a happy people that would want to help, a self-sufficient camp with people who'll appreciate what we have to offer, a great bar and loads of love and friendship! "We don't need no stinking batches". Next year will be my first burn and I want to glean info from all the other burners who have experienced the playa! Thank you and goodnight!

Work is unavoidable @ BM. Over the years, I've learned tricks to limit the bulk of the work to setup and breakdown. The rest of the week, people are free to do whatever they want..so long as they clean up after themselves. Organized chaos..
