Transmorphagon, Live music & DJ space - back in 2011,

Post by The Chinese » Mon Sep 13, 2010 1:16 pm

Yup, I've made the decision that we'll be back in 2011... and I'm looking for people that want to help make us the best live music stage on the Playa..

Things we need - a Lighting Tech. This was undoubtedly our weak point, and the biggest block to us growing. We have a Solid Sound system that can compete with most anything short of RS, Nexus, etc. What we need now is a solid lighting person who can get DMX working, contribute to our overall effect.

VJ's- we had our first VJ ever in camp this year, and it really added. We're going to really up our game on this front for Next year, and integrate projection screens as an integral part of our planning process.

Sound Tech/Grips- We had an awesome crew of young & talented peeps really help on this this year, looking to add to this mix just a bit, and hopefully get the same peeps back.

The idea is to create a Live music space that can command the Esplanade in our frontage, provide a great space for Musicians & DJ's to be comfortable, have Killer monitoring & sound Reinforcement, To continue to Backline the stage so that Bands can minimize how much gear they have to lug around, and to provide a killer visual space with better Chill amenities, places to sit & Relax.

Get in touch with me if you have an interest in being a part of this!!!

Our plan is simple, play often and early because, by Friday no one wants to play music, they just want to play!

Band Looking For Stages

Post by Medium Troy » Mon May 30, 2011 5:03 pm

Hi,
My name is Yonaton, I'm from the Bohemian Dub band Medium Troy. We saw your posting for bands, lighting techs and sound guys and are really excited get in touch with you because we will be traveling to the burn with all 3 and are looking to collaborate with some sweet stages.

We are staying at Reverbia and playing 2-3 night shows and hosting a Jam session day there. But we are also craving to branch out and collaborate with a few other stages as well for a diverse experience. Your stage sounds really awesome!

Background
Sound Guy: Calyn Kelly
Sound guy at the historic WOW Hall in Eugene for 4 years, he currently does booking for the Hall and our band as well. He has done sound for hundreds of national bands of every genre. He would love to do some shifts at your stage if you are still looking to throw some extra engineers in the mix. He has been to Burningman a few times and is spearheading the trip.

Lights: Michael Bowles
A laser guru and architect of ambience. Mickael Bowles also works as an event producer/promoter who has been bringing mostly electronic music events to the Northwest under the name Renaissance Raven. His specialty is lights and he is rolling with a sweet lighting rig looking for a few extra stages to collaborate with. I can't quote equipment specifics yet, but he has had sweet lasers, lights, led strips, projection mapping, smoke, etc.

I can vouch for the fact that Chinos team have been working very hard to make things happen for 2011 - we are travelling/camping with them this year and they have done really well on the fundraising/art car building/stage layout and general camp design...

There are a lot of talented and focused people in their team, let me tell ya - and I'm sure that any band/DJ that come to contribute to the T'Gon will experience the professionalism and dedication of the camp
