Well, I agree with the aspartame. NutraSweet has had nothing but problems in testing that has been covered up time after time. I avoid it.
But overall, things aren't as bad as one might intuitively believe they are. Eastern Europe in particular is MUCH cleaner than it was 20 years ago. The elimination of the communist regimes has resulted in a massive cleanup that is still going on today as pollution abatement continues to be a major thrust in those countries.
China is massively developing with older technologies but newer processes are being brought on line. Some 200 Westinghouse AP series nuclear power plants are on the books which will begin to replace the coal plants that produce that country's power. China will look more like France when their power production infrastructure is complete and with reprocessing/recycling of their spent fuel, like France, they will have no "Yucca Mountain" problem. They still have a considerable way to go, though.
Everything from cars to factories built today are generally more efficient and produce less pollution than they did only 20 years ago.
Third world mining is a completely different story, though.

Mining is very easy. Just cut down all the trees and let nature wash down all the minerals right to you. The astronauts reported that the island of Ceylon looked like it was bleeding into the ocean.

Cancer
I am one to the lucky ones. I am a savior of a very deadly and rare cancer called clear cell sarcoma of the soft tissue. I have spent a some time researching cancer. The best research I have read was a book called the The China Study. Very hard reading for me but what an eye opener. Made profound changes in my lifestyle after reading it. Plan to live to one hundred.

There is new evidence that cancers fare much better with fructose than they do with sucrose;
http://www.reuters.com/article/idAFN0210830520100802
That would put HFC in a very bad light. I'm sure that the food industry will discontinue it's use,,, as part of their "social contract"
In other news, a very important dietary supplement has shown great effectiveness as a cancer preventing adjunct. Modified citrus pectin has remarkable effects. It blocks angiogenesis. This is especially important for solid tumors. If they can't trick / force the body to supply them with blood, they remain very small.

Cancer cells feed on fructose, study finds
Research shows the refined sugar helps cancer cells proliferate
By Maggie Fox
Reuters
WASHINGTON - Pancreatic tumor cells use fructose to divide and proliferate, U.S. researchers said on Monday in a study that challenges the common wisdom that all sugars are the same.
Tumor cells fed both glucose and fructose used the two sugars in two different ways, the team at the University of California Los Angeles found.
They said their finding, published in the journal Cancer Research, may help explain other studies that have linked fructose intake with pancreatic cancer, one of the deadliest cancer types.
"These findings show that cancer cells can readily metabolize fructose to increase proliferation," Dr. Anthony Heaney of UCLA's Jonsson Cancer Center and colleagues wrote.
"They have major significance for cancer patients given dietary refined fructose consumption, and indicate that efforts to reduce refined fructose intake or inhibit fructose-mediated actions may disrupt cancer growth."
Americans take in large amounts of fructose, mainly in high fructose corn syrup, a mix of fructose and glucose that is used in soft drinks, bread and a range of other foods.
Politicians, regulators, health experts and the industry have debated whether high fructose corn syrup and other ingredients have been helping make Americans fatter and less healthy.
Too much sugar of any kind not only adds pounds, but is also a key culprit in diabetes, heart disease and stroke, according to the American Heart Association.
Several states, including New York and California, have weighed a tax on sweetened soft drinks to defray the cost of treating obesity-related diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
The American Beverage Association, whose members include Coca-Cola and Kraft Foods have strongly, and successfully, opposed efforts to tax soda.
The industry has also argued that sugar is sugar.
Heaney said his team found otherwise. They grew pancreatic cancer cells in lab dishes and fed them both glucose and fructose.
Tumor cells thrive on sugar but they used the fructose to proliferate. "Importantly, fructose and glucose metabolism are quite different," Heaney's team wrote.
"I think this paper has a lot of public health implications. Hopefully, at the federal level there will be some effort to step back on the amount of high fructose corn syrup in our diets," Heaney said in a statement.
Now the team hopes to develop a drug that might stop tumor cells from making use of fructose.
U.S. consumption of high fructose corn syrup went up 1,000 percent between 1970 and 1990, researchers reported in 2004 in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

A fairly young friend of a friend is in the last stages of cervical cancer. I advised her to read this guy;
http://jimhumble.biz/index.htm
She has nothing to lose.
You say that a .223 will cure cancer. That brings on the question;
Is an early death "bad"? What's the big difference if you have 60 years of living under your belt before you go to oblivion,,, or 10 years? Whether you go to heaven, hell or oblivion, does it matter on the timing,,, after you're dead?
Would it be better to live to your prime and then suddenly checkout?;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logan%27s_Run
The enemy of life is boredom,,, not death. Just when should we check out?

In the "cut and burn" industry, the 5 year survival rate for peritoneal carciomatosis is zero. Dr. Armando Sardi at the institute for cancer care in Baltimore has a new therapy. It increases the 5 year survival rate to 80%. The therapy is a 12 to 15 hour surgery where he takes out all the guts and removes visible tumors from all the organs. Then he bathes the organs and abdominal cavity with heated chemo drugs for 90 minutes. Then, he hooks up all the plumbing again and closes the 15 inch incision.
One feels like one has been hit by 2 trucks but, the only alternative is death.
This is from one of my medical newsletters. I don't know if it's on the net yet.
The other interesting treatment is from a preparation of fermented wheat germ called , Avemar. When used as an adjunct to chemo, it increased the overall 5 year survival rate by 50%.

When my father was diagnosed with cancer in 1988, overall cancer rate was 1 in 5 in the US
When my father died of cancer in 1990, overall cancer rate was 1 in 4.
When my cousin was diagnosed in 1994, overall cancer rate was 1 in 3.5.

Last report I heard, we were rapidly approaching 1 in 2.

There are plenty of reports that there is no cancer in primitive societies. I posted a very important link above that shows IV chelation removes most of the toxins and results in a 85 % reduction of cancer. It's safe to say that ingested toxins allow cancer to get a foothold.
"What Louis Pasteur said on his death bed...
Germ Theory was all wrong: "It’s the terrain, not the germ." quoted louis pasteur on his death bed...
It’s not the bacteria or the viruses themselves that produce the disease, it’s the chemical by-products and constituents of these microorganisms enacting upon the unbalanced, malfunctioning cell metabolism of the human body that in actuality produce disease. If the body’s cellular metabolism and pH is perfectly balanced or poised, it is susceptible to no illness or disease. "
Here is a report about cleansing the body;

The more shit we ingest, the more we provide a niche for cancer.

Dunno, if i already posted this. It's a cancer test that can detect 5 years before cancer shows.

"Researchers have hailed the discovery as like that of H. pylori, the bacteria which was found to trigger ulcers in the stomach. "
This was another big screw-up of modern medicine. They insisted that gastric ulcers were because of too much acid.

Cancer is an infection,,, period. Our poisonous lifestyle produces a weakened habitat for it to blossom. The British are making great strides at inventing vaccines.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healt ... mours.html
"The cancer tricks the body into thinking it is an injury and instead of destroying the tumours it actually nurtures them. "
This is more of a repair vaccine than a prevention vaccine, though. IV chelation reduces cancer incidence by 85 %. This, by itself proves that pollutants provide a suitable habitat for cancer to thrive.

Medical science is gradually being forced to view cancer as an infection. this is an interesting paper on the subject.
"However, a careful study of "pre-cancerous" lesions, such as sun-damaged skin, will reveal that the bacteria are present prior to the development of full-blown skin cancer."
"One of the most remarkable medical findings in the new 21st century is the recognition that 90% of the cells that make up our body are not human cells. On the contrary, most of our cells are the trillions of microbial cells (primarily bacteria) that inhabit our bodies and share our lives."
http://www.rense.com/general92/cantw.htm
"One of my reported patients with Hodgkin's disease (lymphoma) was cured of his cancer, but the bacteria that were associated with his cancer were still present at autopsy, indicating that radiation does not kill human bacteria, although it can destroy cancer cells and eliminate cancer tumors"
Think about it. Radiation does NOT kill the bacteria that make up 90% of the cells of our body. They may be immortal.
"Some of the 90% of microbial cells in Homo sapiens create metabolites that interfere with the expression of genes associated with autoimmune disease."
AMAZING. Our on-board bacteria work to stop autoimmune diseases.
FASCINATING paper.
