Projectiles?
Projectiles?
I'm cooking up a concept that involves launching something into the air. I know that this can be allowed, but I'm pretty sure that just doing it without letting anyone know you're going to do it would cause some major wrath.
So, yous of you who actually have some experience and knowledge in this area, what's the deal?
I do want to mention right off the bat that I'm looking to use air pressure and a parachute to avoid moop.
Thank you in advance for your kind sharing of knowledge.

When I got back to my camp late on burn night I found, right in front of my tent a big aluminum rocket casing. This thing is big, and the fins on it are hella sharp. It deff would've done some damage if it would've hit somebody when it came down. I'll post pix later tonight after I get home. I've read the back of the ticket, and yes I'm aware of the dangers out there, and no, it didn't hit anybody, but still, for a rocket to come down way back on 4:30 and Hanoi...

I believe that in the blm 'fine print' that anything that shoots a projectile may be considered a firearm, and thus forbidden during the event.
my recollection about the anvil shoot was that it was "pre - event"
Spudguns would be a no - no... I know of one that shoots from Frog Pond, apex of trajectory at the gate (700 feet), and prolly goes another 500 - 600 feet

Well, if it involves launching hippies out of a cannon I can almost guarantee that there'll be no problem.
That is, unless, they're still on fire during re-entry and end up landing on someone's tent.
That wouldn't be cool.

What a sweet souvenir. I'm envious!
Quick! Somebody figure out what terminal velocity for that object is and then estimate possible damage to Animal, Mineral or Vegetable.

UPDATE! after a whole bunch of google searches, I found out what it really is. From this website it says it's a Viet Nam era hand held rocket propelled signal grenade.
About 3/4 down on this page is a drawing and description of it.

Yeah, and the Men in Black want it back ASAP! Although it's perfectly harmless and is NOT part of an alien spacecraft. Don't worry. But don't say a word about it either. You've been briefed.

Shoot them, and the frat boys, out of the city. It applies to the "default" world as well.
