So happy to see Antioquia mentioned! They were part of my camp and they're such lovely, wonderful, kind, generous, awesome people, and their music is fantastic. I was also camped with Phoenix from the Buffalo Field Campaign. He's stupidly talented. It was a wonderful group to camp with.

I thought Donald Glaude and Santiago killed it during their sets at Root Society. Loved them. If I ever find the name of the emcee who performed during Myagi's set at Opulent Temple on Tuesday night, he's also on the list.

Check into AFROBETA from Miami. Live female vocals and a great dj in the background. Their set at sunrise at Root Society was simply magical !! Her voice is amazing. It was such a pleasure to welcome the Sun while listening to Afrobeta =)
Fuck you, fuck you...you're cool, fuck you !!

oh wow, thanks for that. Checked them out on their myspace page, after 3 songs I was convinced and bought their album from their site. Haven't stopped listening to it since! (got me through the whiteout here on ePlaya quite nicely).
Oh yeah! Saw them live in the dome at the Department of Tethered Aviation Friday night. Damn!, I thought, these guys are good! Later bought two of their albums off their web site. Happy to pay them for this good music.

Random Rab is a long-time favorite of mine for his eclectic "pretty step" grooves. Auditory Canvas followed with an intricate bassy soundscape accented by an ethereal female vocalist who was just lovely. These guys are my new favorite. :)
That vocalist is Jillian Ann, and she is Excellent!

Antioquia Rocked Transmorphagon on Thursday Night, and I gotta give them some serious props- Total Pros, great people, wonderful & refreshing music. Def one of the highlights of the BUrn for me...

ONe other act that I jsut have to mention is SOLOVOX- that cat is serious, and even if I didn't discover him at BM this year, I'd have to say that's my discovery of the year. Check him out!

Crap--I'm sorry I missed it too! This is the first year in many that i didn't go to Club Verboten. Shame on me!
Live as if everyone loves you and thinks you look great. Dance as if no one is watching.

hmm, sounds like I missed out on good stuff at Transmorphagon. Where were you located and will you be back next year?

Hey there K-Mom... We were at 3rd & Esplanade on teh corner opposite from Thunderdome. We had the Giant Shipping container with flames on it (Pandora) and a live Music stage setup.

We will be back next year, Hopefully in the same location (we've been there for 2 years now). Who knows though, as sometimes we get moved around, and maybe it might be time for us to move toward the corners, althogh we didnt' get any volume complaints from any of our neighbors.

Does anyone know where I can get more info on Phoenix and his music? Listened to him at Center Camp right before Antioquia rocked the stage. Had never heard of them up to this point and was blown away. Thanks!
