I've got a ton of friends that want to go with me and I have a few questions

Are there group rates available?

How soon can you buy tickets?

Are there groups that travel together?

How do I meet local burners?

Thank you for reading this and any info. would be helpful.

As soon as the main website sez you can. Probly not 'til late, late, late this year, early next.

LA Decompression is oct 2nd. There's also one in san diego Oct 15-17 which sounds like a lot of fun.

A limited number of third tier tickets go on sale in December for holiday gifting.
Otherwise, they go on sale January 19. Since I don't want to play the on-line lotto game, I'll buy my 3rd tier some time a little later.

WELCOME to eplaya, im a virgin burner too 2011 is going to be a great year. and the tickets go on sale on January 19,2011 at 10am check the burning man website for the time to make sure.

Wanting to go to 2011 burn! Would love to find a group to go with. I have some mobility issues so will need to figure out transportation for a scooter or artcar, and generator power to re-charge at night. One of the biggest Motorhome rental companies that actually WANT to rent to burners is in Apple Valley.

If you have a handicapped placard, the DMV should issue a permit for your vehicle. Check with them!

The process is that in the spring you will fill out the paperwork on-line and recieve an email in return. (Not right away--once they've had the chance to review it.) You bring a print out of the email to the DMV, once you are on the playa, and they will issue the permit.

There is a wheelchair camp, with mvs adapted to wheelers, that can be loaned out for a little bit. They are in "center camp" (all this weird terminology will start to make sense at some point. That's the point of no return.) Also, if you have thoughts or questions about disability on the playa, you can add to this thread, if you like.
You're going to have to get an accessible van with lift or ramp for your chair/scooter, but I think you know that.
