First Timer from Cheltenham, UK

Post by crumpets » Thu Sep 09, 2010 3:25 am

Hi guys & gals (and everything in between)

I got back home yesterday from my first Burn, and it absolutely changed my life in so many ways. Adjusting to Defaultia is harder than I thought.

Anyway, I live in Cheltenham, UK, and I'd love to get in touch with other local Burners to chat with. Or, in fact, anyone from anywhere!

I want to keep BRC alive in my heart for as long as possible, and befriending fellow burners will help do that.

Visit my website to find out more about me, and click through to my Facebook. Then drop me a line and say hi!

Can't wait to hear from you.

Thank you, Silver! The pleasure was mine - so many great people, and hopefully loads of great new friends.

Okay, we have a lovely camp member who hasn't been since 07. She lives in a town that begins with a B. Belper? This is very confusing, because when I was there, we met in a different town that began with a B. And that might have been Belper. The one we met in was a Victorian spa town.
All of which is totally useless to you, I know.

Belper is in Derby, which is about 100 miles from me, but it's still a lot closer than my American burner friends!

It would be great to talk with fellow Brits who have a similar outlook on life and on Burning Man. Someone who doesn't just see it as a big rave in the desert.

Yeah, I met her in Belper, but that was a day trip for her. But I cannot rmember the name of where she lived.

Too bad, I was hoping you could help her figure out how to attend next year.

I'd be happy to help out. If you wake up in the middle of the night and remember the name of the town, or indeed any kind of contact information (which will probably be a better thing to remember) then let me know.

It doesn't seem that many UK peeps attend the Burn. I've joined both the South-West and London mailing lists, but both are pretty empty. A shame, really.

I would dearly like to make Burner friends in the local area.

Actually, she is in Belper. I met her in Buxton.

(Buxton is an oddly appropriate name for the town, there was a least one big dome.)
Yeah, I met her in Belper
Thats completely random- Belper is a rediculously tiny town in Derbyshire.. and Buxton isn't much bigger to be honest - only it has lots of old ladies and spring water....

BTW Crumpets, I will be a virgin next year - but we have at least 2 in our crew who have been a number of times to BM. We are based in Manchester, Oswestry, Welshpool & Birmingham and are part of a community who do art and music events in the North West and the Midlands
