I have been tossing around the idea of powering a golf cart with a vertical turbine. Seems like a nice way to harness wind.

Seems to me that FM's design would cause a wee bit of turbulance. You better put some instructions on it.

I don't think that idea would work if any of the flight crew have metal plates in their heads.

I agree. Turbulence would be the issue.
The reason this hasn't been successfully done before is that magnet streamlining technology isn't advanced enough yet.
