..are spraying gray water, right?
I'm pretty sure they are, just want to make certain.
Because if so, it's pretty gross to see nakey people running behind the trucks 'bathing' in it.
The trucks that wet down the roads..

There are many rumors flying around as to what they are putting down.
Here is what I know.
They are commercial water trucks used typically in the construction industry.
They are all labeled Non Potable because they have tanks that can not ever be certified as potable. They have baffles to lessen the effects of sloshing water and that and potable don't go hand in hand.
I have no idea what the water source is and I see the value in creating dramatic ugly water stories so that people don't shower behind them. If you can decrease the amount of people showering behind them you decrease your risk for liability either for accidents involving the trucks or people becoming ill from tainted water.
My total guess is that they have a contract with a local rancher to supply them with well water typically used for irrigation. Trucking water long distances is expensive. Just a guess.
Perhaps someone who really knows will be along shortly.

As far as I know they are still currently using Squaw Resivour, they have been for a few years now, they have previously used water from the Frog Ponds a couple of year, and way back when they used from Trego(year?).
There was somewhere else that they used water from , can't remember right now but they got in trouble with that source.
All of the above places have frogs, minnows, cow and horse piss and shit and all forms of bacteria and organisms that will make you sick and some that will kill you.
those pumps that suck it into the trucks's tanks have impellers that will shed and kill most of the lifeforms visible to the naked eye, but does nothing to lessen the amount of all that other shit that will make you ill.
Also, people go swimming/soaking all the time in all of the sources that I have named, so it really is user beware.
the fucked part of the trucks is when you see people running behind it actually DRINKING the water, as well as some that use it to brush thier teeth.
Guaranteed way to at least give yourself the squirts.
I know two different people that had to leave early and go to the hospital after throwing up and shitting thier asses off for a couple of days from JUST showering in the wake of the truck.
my girlfriend got the Hives on over 1/3 of her body and had her eyes swell shut from soaking in the Frogponds 2 years ago.
Bottom line is, you shouldn't do it, there is a sign on the back of the truck that warns you to not do it, but it is not exactly "gray" water by the way that the typical burner defines it(soap and dish water), but it is almost just as gross.
Years ago, when they filled up Waterboy's bladder bag with this, there were minnows swimming around in it, as well as a nice tinge of green, from the chloroform, algae, shredded swimmers and frogs and such.

Also, some of the trucks carry dust palliative, eg Gorilla Snot.
Perfectly harmless, you could even have sex with it.

Back in 02 I drove a water truck for a construction company in Carson City. The water was used for dust control at job sites and the companys' quarry. The water supply came from a stand pipe that was tapped from the city waste water treatment facility, from what I learned. In fact, one of the standpipes was at the facility. Not sayin the water trucks at BM get the supply from a similar source, but, just my experience from the industry.
