All of a sudden you're 33!?!?!?!? Wait until all of a sudden you're 62! You don't know what life going fast is, you young whipper snapper.

Sometimes it seems like a long, slow time between burns....

For me Burning Man makes life go slow…..it breaks down like this:

1. Going to, being at and returning from Burning Man…….goes so fast
2. Working on my art……..goes so fast
3. Hanging with the wife……..really depends
4. Work…….is it yesterday again
5. Being in a meeting at work…….are you just fucking kidding……kill me
6. Hanging out with my wife’s family……….if I smile maybe they won’t notice that I’m asleep.

All that other time that isn’t spent doing art or Burning Man just creeps by……….
How do I get a hold of you?

Time crawls by so slowly between burns and such that I have time to post on this board.
We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.

Yes, I think time has seemed faster since my first burn, but perhaps it is because I learned to pay less attention to the clock. Time was just an invention of man anyways :-)

'playa time' goes by quickly...but lately..most time seems more like playa time. even in defaultia!

Time was not invented by anyone. The means of recording and keeping track of time was the only thing man can take credit for.

And is it really BM? Or are you just getting older since your first burn?

I'm aware the flow of time itself may not have been invented, however by man choosing to measure it in ever more specific increments, we may have slowed the apparent passage of it. Lets compair saying: Meet me at sundown, for instance, in which case you may check the sun every once in awhile to see how close it was to setting. No put this next to "Meet me at 6:00pm". Now you are checking the time more often because you know you have a specific o'clock in which you should meet someone.

I believe observation of time based on the increments man has created comes along with the side effect of not only anxiety, but time perception being altered. Perhaps BECAUSE we can watch it pass on a clock in the first place.

Just sayin'

Wasn't it in Catch-22 that someone was trying to make life longer by being bored all the time?
