This issue tears me up. Part of me hates capital punishment. But I talk with Cherri, Pamela's mother every day. I walk past the shrine to Pamela before going into the house, see the state proclamations of condolence on the wall, the pics, the newspaper reprints, the occasional tv crews....and I find myself thinking that in this case the feds made the right call....he deserves the sentence he was given.

He kidnapped a child off the street, raped her, then killed her. Can such a person be rehabilitated? Should we try? The risk in my mind is too great. Letting Terre Haute carry out his federal death sentence seems like the only way to achieve closure for all involved on the victim's side and from the government's side.

Edit: He has vowed if released to come back for others including the mother. How on earth could anyone even think of letting him out? Yeah, the sentence is correct...they simply need to carry it out.

K. I understand, I can't empathise but I do sympathise. A few months before my sister's wedding, she recieved a call from her friend who was also making her cake for her wedding. She could barely speak. Her infant granddaughter was dead and from similar circumstances but by someone they knew. I wish there were words that could make it better, but not even time heals all wounds. And at least when he passes, you know that he can not do it again to another child, and another family.(((K)))

Japanese Pesos = Fucking Phillipino Japanese Occupation Money - Remember, Japan invaded the Phillipines for a while, before we re-invaded. A sizeable number of Phillipinos spoke English, not Japanese, so it was (IIRC) printed in English (and maybe Japanese - it's been decades since I saw one of these) for the fucking Japanese Occupation Gov't.

Fuck! My blood pressure meds tend to knock me out so I got a verbal warning for falling asleep at work. If I do not take the meds my blood pressure will instantly go to about 225 over 110. As it is, even with the meds it is about 155 over 86.

fucking damned if you do and damned if you don't I guess. Can't afford to lose my job so I guess the meds have to go. Fuck.

Now I am so stressed out I can't fucking sleep.

Have you tried titrating the dosage?
Most of the time a much lower dose will have almost the same effect.
Easy to check.
Spacing out the medication may help too.

Make sure it's safe to use on the drug, and get a pill splitter.

I was on beta blockers for years and was like a zombie for much of the time.
Finally was able to cut the dosage in half, which helped a lot.
A terrible experience though.

Not nearly as bad as what K is going through, but a friend in Boston was just chased down an alley on his bike into a waiting crowd of 6 "people" yelling anti-gay slurs. One grabbed at his handlebar but he was able to get away, and there was a cop about a block away. He's not sure if they caught any of them.
