Later in the year there will be sticky threads here for stages and for artists needing stages. Look through the old 2010 threads and see who was offering and who was accepting. The BMORG does not arrange such things for you.
But there's a damn lot of DJs. Read the posts and the art and performance threads and get an idea of how things go.

If you are a promoter or an agent, you can contact the performance/entertainment liaison at BMORG. I'm sure they will be happy to give you further direction.

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

*shakes head* LOL You guys go through this yearly don't you? I now see where the snark comes in... and especially for the silly ones. NOT that I'm saying this question was, but in the short time I've been on eplaya, I've seen plenty of them. The DJ's are all Brittish dudes named: LTJ Bukem and MC Conrad, also Dynamik (all on the label Good Looking Records). The type of music is Drum n Bass. Here are some links to their music:

...and do you understand that this is a volunteer situation, with high desert camping and no services, requiring radical self-reliance and preparation...this is NOT your average concert/party gig...no pay, no limos, no hotel, no free tix... most burners spend at least ~&1,000 to get there (this includes burner DJs)...
My guess is that most LSSA camps that bring big stages and sound systems have their own DJs to showcase; since there are SO MANY folks who want to DJ in BRC, it puts the onus of finding gigs on YOU - it's unlikely that a camp would spend a fortune to build a stage without already having a stable of DJs to populate it...

Not snark. There are a lot of DJs and would-be DJ's that come this way. Just as if someone decided to burn an effigy of a man in the desert. It's been done.MistressSybs wrote:*shakes head* LOL You guys go through this yearly don't you? I now see where the snark comes in... and especially for the silly ones. My friend who paid for me to go to my first Burn last year is a DJ. I think he would fit in perfectly at a camp. If you got him a spot to DJ he would be stoked.

Contact DJ Pimp Camp and let them know you have DJ's-- everybody loves DJ's. Those people that bring instruments they actually play, have no idea what true art is. Especially the ones who jam improv all nite at Jazz Cafe, where people actually listen to the music, and some without E unless in the key of G, that's one sharp (F) for you DJ types.
GET OUT OF MY TRUCK HIPPIE!
