And considering you car's horrific and terrifying flame effects (guaranteed to make an officer near you piddle) any raver lucky enough to be caught in your cross hairs would have been nicely seared, locking in that patchouli flavor and juices inside without spilling one drop on the pristine playa surface.oneeyeddick wrote:I was thinking those were blood stains from Ravers that got stuck on artcar bumpers.
my artcar has mudflaps.
It wasn't me.
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

I think it's walked in quadrants, not by one team doing a full ring.
It probably has more to do with the fact that I & J are going to have a lot of weekenders on them, and how a very large percentage of "those people" are moopy.
The 10 o'clock sound camps always seem to be moopy as well, but I think that has more to do with their popularity.

2010 Moop Map

Couple questions for those in the know:
Is there a larger version somewhere so we can see more detail?
Is there a report that lists what the area were marked for?
My camp's area got red for the first time in a while, and I'm wondering if there was something the cleanup crew left or if we got marked for the deep dunes that built up during the storms.

Right?capjbadger wrote:Since when was fucking DUNES called MOOP???
The whole front of Fandango had dunes so bad they had to put the camp back some 20-30' from the Esplanade- it was a huge sand trap that was there when we arrived.
3:30 was a dune sea from Esplanade partway back to A as well.
Sure enough, both areas are yellow on the map.
So if we water them to make them not dunes, we're bad for pouring water on the playa, but if we leave them dunes we're bad because...... we didn't take the playa dust home with us?
Don't get it.
Wheeeeee.

Here's the official map! http://www.burningman.com/environment/p ... p_map.html
It was a little hard for me to remember the exact location of everything, so check this out... I overlaid the moop map onto the satellite photo:

hhhmmmmmmm seems off.
It looks like red, right behind us.
I know, we mooped and raked and everything, our whole area, and, even behind us, were some folks had a small sound camp, with dancing.
There were 8 of us scouring the area, so, I'm pretty dang sure we got everything up.
fine tooth rake and all.
I even smoothed my tire tracks from camp to the road.
dang.

Dunno cap, but I made an overlay with the satellite photo to help me see it more clearly. See my post in the other Moop map thread: http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic. ... 132#612132capjbadger wrote:Is there a larger version somewhere so we can see more detail?

Damn... very nice work.
Hmmm... Yep, that's Lamplighters alright.
They marked the whole Lounge/kitchen/Setup crew lounge area and some of the camp in red and the Chapel in yellow.
I'd love to know what they found...

Nice job Timezone!
It verified what I thought- everything was green in our camp except that front dune area. Even the highly popular bar that was slinging drinks until something like 3am Monday AM was green.
Just those damn dunes brought us down. I'd really like some feedback from the org on what the fuck we're supposed to do about those.

Excellent job on the map overlay. Camp D.O.A. is green after our first year ( and this is our 3rd year of having a green camp - even though we weren't a theme camp in '08 and '09 ).
I bought a new magnetic rack to make clean up even easier next year !!

Awful lot of LLC yellow and Red as well...
The Commissary was Yellow fringed by Red. So was 9:00.
If the LLC doesn't make the fracking effort to stay green... what's that say to the rest of the burners out there?? Serious - when I read the map I was... disappointed.
I really expected better by the folks who demand we moop.
Can we do better? My ? is... can the LLC be an example and do better as well? OUR camp was green (as it has been for years), so what gives?
By the way... your 2006 map is blatantly wrong. I REMEMBER that map, showing it mostly yellow is fabrication. Get your Integrity together or rethink the core values, folks. Serious about this... Be glad I'm not a crew lead or worse...
I'd hold you to those values. AND keep my slice green. Or you can hie for your own gig, and I'll find people who will do the job. (No wonder they don't want me to go there!!!).
As to the commissary - ALL the staph goes there with an EAT, so why is it YELLOW??? THAT is flat SHAMEFUL.
Sorry... but as my granddaddy once said...
Get yer shit together, folks.
Thanks,
bb
