Seeking Dance Instructors, Performers, and Bands
The dancers at Camp Bebop are building a dance floor (not carpet)! Our focus is on providing opportunities for social dancing and dance/movement-related learning.
So far we have instructors for swing, bellydancing, and contact-improv. Interested in teaching one or more afternoons?
We're also planning a dance performance for late Friday afternoon. Please let us know if you're interested in performing. Non-dance pieces less than 5 minutes long are also welcome.
Of course, the best dancing happens with live music! Any bands out there who like to play with dancers? We'd especially love to hear some salsa, swing, tango, and bellydancing music.
More to come!

Can Teach
Hey Erika,
I can teach West African and Hatian dance. I just need some Haitian and Djembe drummers to enhance the energy. I also want to form a dance circle for the night of the full moon. Please keep me posted.
Thanks-Jenn

salsa ?
A beginners' salsa class would be manageable.
I'm not a professional teacher, but have taken a lot of classes and have helped some friends learn.

Samba is NOT Salsa!
"samba is a step
salsa is a style "
I invite you to take my classes.... I'll teach you all about Samba... this is not a partner dance and goes WAY BEYOND a 'step'..
Be prepared to shake it!

re: music for dance
Hi,
I play salsa, jazz, rock, and as it happens, Egyptian music on keys and with other players. Here's a sample of the Egyptian stuff:

Let me know what you're up to; I'm in San Jose and can practice with Bay Area people before the burn.

Trombone
Hey Folks -
I'm a trombone player looking for a good rhythm section.
I'd be happy to play for an event or two... hit me up in the pancake camp.
If you can find enough folks for a big band, and can give me a few days notice, I can probably bring decent dance band charts. ;)
(Bigband on the playa -- how kick ass would that be?)

How about some African Dance?
I have studied African Dance from Ghana for the past 3 years and have started to study Break dancing. I would love to share my love of dance with others....
