Schwann's is a nationwide corporation...Their frozen food is the same as the frozen food at any grocery store. Example would be "Tony's frozen pizza"s are made on the same line as the Schwanns brand. Look on the back of a Tony's pizza package and you'll see the Schwaan logo.AntiM wrote: We also have a local company, Schwann's, that does home delivery of frozen foods.

Ah, I see. They have clever marketing then to make them seem local, at least around here.Bounce530 wrote:Schwann's is a nationwide corporation...Their frozen food is the same as the frozen food at any grocery store. Larry delivered to the Tombstone pizza plant one time. They were remarkable friendly and had piles of frozen pizza in a freezer, and a pizza oven, for the drivers waiting to be loaded/unloaded. They seemed quite concerned because we couldn't have any. There was a vibe that they cared about what was going on the trucks. Nice. If I could have mass-produced pizza, I would eat Tombstone!

Another example of how money and farm lobbyists have influenced lawmaking? Unfortunate. You would think that the regulations would help the small farmer, not put them out of business.goathead wrote:been there, tried that, fucking tough way to go.gyre wrote: People that study these things say that small farms can be very competitive with corporate farms, using properly scaled equipment and techniques.
Some of the quality compromises of corporate farms are purely greed driven, not production mandatory.
The regs, permitting, and on and on it written for the corporations.
Almost impossible to comply with for a small farmer.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Some of the delivery food is special to that business and only available that way.

LOL Those DiGiorno frozen pizza's are actually good! Since we discovered them, we seldom order pizza out.Dr. Pyro wrote:If I discovered they were serving frozen pizza at a bake sale, I would have shut it down as well.
