Ever seen the gates of hell durning the Burn?

So this last year was my first burn and I had no idea of what to expect during the burn..if you have not attended Burning Man before please stop reading now, i don't want to ruin it for you.. So I sat in the front row near the center of the ring.. And I was expecting just to see the Man get lit on fire and burned down.. I took LSD with my gf about an hour or two before we were going to watch it to enhance the experience, so I blame this experience primary to the drug but still wonder why I saw what I saw.. So we sat there waiting for the Burn to start and did not feel anything and so we thought we got bunk LSD, like the night before.. So the firedancers came out and I was basically in shock, not expecting anything like this.. Being in the front row it was like I was 'inside' the fireshow and started to fell like the gates of hell were opening up for me.. I can see how I thought this because fire is related to hell so it isn't that wierd but the more and more the show went on the deeper and deeper I got into this trip, It went for a bad trip to a good trip and back and forth the entire time. I had a relizaion that was something like Man vs Nature.. let me back up.. I don't know how usual burns go, but the dust storm that happened had a major impact of how I perceived things. I was kind of thinking that the Man was me, and that we were burning me, so I would die, yea i know, scary.. Even guys would be swinging large balls of fire over my head and I swear one guy was less than a couple of inches from hitting me., Then the storm hit hard and at the same time all the fire dancers put out there fire.. So i thought that I wasn't gonna die.. lol, then a long period of nothing which gave me time to think about life and where I was and just everything, and then BANG!.. fireworks mixed with dust winds.. I had thought that the fireworks were supposed to catch the Man on Fire and was hoping it would set on fire by then so I could just have a sigh of relief.. And then it finnally exploded and caught on fire and I was still alive =), but then the dust storm looked like it was gonna blow out the fire and this is where my Man vs nature trip was at its peak,.. when the man finnally burnt down the was so much smoke everywhere I swear like I would never find my camp and that all of us were just traveling in the wrong direction because it seemed like nobody knew where to go because we couldn't see 5 feet in front of us, We finnally got back to camp and i thought about what just happened to me. Yea as I write this I realize I was tripping but I was wondering if anyone besides me has ever had this happen to them or could maybe talk about this on a deep level of thinking.

Its stories like yours that feed the media into reporting BM as a "hippie, drug sex, fest" Where drugs are rampant, and orgies are around every corner.

Yeah, mmhmm, we all love to hear trip stories, yes we do. LEO does too. Yes he does. And he reads this.

Drugs are illegal. In Nevada, for sure. What you do is your business. But this forum may not be the best place for your trip stories.

Sorry. So, except for that gates of hell thing, I suppose it was a pretty good trip.

Funny, in my experience Burning Man *has* been a rave with drugs, public sex, obscenity & drunken mayhem ever since I started going fifteen burns ago, but please by all means do elaborate on how it isn't a rave with drugs, public sex, obscenity & drunken mayhem, because I'm sure our dear readers would like to know how a well-known rave with drugs, public sex, obscenity & drunken mayhem could have eluded them while they were alone in their tents having an evening hot cocoa and a romance novel before bedtime.

Its a Raver turned burner...but it lists its occupation as Raver...so its gonna take alot longer to get it.

The more people explain the Trip on their trip to BM, the more LEO's are gonna wanna come too.....But because this person is incidentally also telling people who havent been to go away...more LEO's Bait.

Maybe you should give up the drug and actaully see/Do BM sober....
