Danish Burning Man Virgin

Post by AndersZappa » Thu Oct 28, 2010 5:28 am

Hi,

I'm a 31 year old guy from Denmark.

In 2011 I plan to go to Burning Man for the first time. I'm gonna be arriving from Denmark and partly because of that and because I don't know that much about what to bring and to expect, I'm hoping to find some nice people to share a camp with.
How do I go about that?

As a little extra information I will be going to Burning Man from San Francisco so going with someone from around there would be the easiest for me.

Otherwise, what can I say. I have been wanting to go for the past six years but finally have pulled myself together for it and looking very much forward to it :)

Hello Anders, and welcome to the eplaya! A lot of information can be found here if you put some time in doing research. First I would start by reading this http://www.burningman.com/preparation/e ... index.html, this http://www.burningman.com/first_timers/, and this http://www.burningman.com/whatisburning ... iples.html. Pay special attention to the survival guide as it contains a lot of the information you will need to make a good plan.

As far as camping goes, our own Cryptofishist has started a thread that might help answer some questions about camps for you. http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?t=36767

I would suggest doing some research and if you have specific questions post them in the appropriate section here. Look forward to seeing you out on the playa!

We have a group of Norwegians who attend every other year.

Are you thinking that the Danes and Fins can switch off? One on even, one on odds?
It's going to be alright.

I think Crypto might be Danish already.........so that'd be redundant.

offend the Danes, and, they'll (eta: we'll) drive by in a low rider Volvo while you're walking home and pelt you with butter cookies...........

"We squared off on the Dockside
With a couple of hundred Finns
We dallied in the dilly
And we soaked ourselves in gin."

I think that means Finnegan is a Finn, too.
And the Wires, proving that you can be a Finn and a Norweigian. Can we broaden that to all Scandinavians? Inquiring minds want to know.

(Did I just date myself with that tagline?)
